Default Optimum temp for slicks

Has anyone done any kind of testing to see what is the "melting" point of a slick / temp they are their stickiest. Also I see people do small burnouts and others not so small

I was told you want the slick within 10 degrees of the track surface. The people you see doing really quick burnouts are doing them usually in third, so there's a lot of wheelspeed, thus a shorter duration is required.

I'm hoping to have more data on this soon as I just setup a few sensors on my car to monitor inner/center/outer tire temp and track temp. I'm hoping to learn the sweet spot and really see how the tire reacts during the run.

Typically, you don't want a large delta between the two.

Do you have IR sensors in the wheel-well or something?

10-20 degrees higher or lower than track temps. The tubber on the track is what you want to stick to so if tires are to far off from the track temp you won't grip as much.

This is awesome information I will be conducting some test on this and comparing slips for diff length / temp on the tires along with the temp on the track surface. I already have a great temp tool point and read

Yup. I'd post an actual picture but I can't from work. 3 point at the tire as explained above and one points on the track in front of the tire. I chose the track point in front so that the tire doesn't affect the 'as found' track temp.... if that makes sense.

Very similar to this pic I found on the interweb

Interesting info about this. Does the size of the slick matter meaning 13,15 rims or 22, 23,24.5 size slicks matter in proportion to the temps?

You mean spot radiometers?

Awesome though, as I didn't realize people were using this technology on cars. Thermography FTW!!!
