Default o2 question

i hooked up my A/F gauge my idiol went up and down and the car almost stalled and like half of the scectrom was lit up and then when it went lean it started acting up but soon as i disconected the sigle wire thecar went back to running fine

i have a 95 DX hatch with a b18c1 but it have a 96 gsr harness in it but i am useing a obd2-obd1 convertion harness and useing a obd1 P-72 ecu

i used the convertion harness becouse i was getting a cell from a secondary o2 being missing but now there is no cell with the obd1 ecu

the o2 came fom my turbo teg and i am useing the same A/F gauge and signal wire also and i also tried a diff A/F gauge and it does the same

Your gauge may be taking to much current from the O2 sensor and thus screws up the reading. You'll need some sort of of current buffer if you want to draw the signal from the 02 sensor the ecu is using otherwise run an O2 sensor dedicated to the gage.

the ground strap to the head on top of the valve cover in front of the motor is there but i will take it off and clean it what wire on the o2 is ground maybe i and runa jumper wire from that wire to ground

Hmm. Not sure what to say but check it with another O2 sensor if you have one available.
