I've been thinking about not running the CMI anymore .
I just don't think they are doing enough to keep all the racers there
Hopefully this year will be better . If the first race comes and it's still
the same than I'll never race there again even if it's my home track .
I'm just glad that we have someone out there still trying to put things
together for the true racers ...

 

Well I turned in the proposal to two tracks and now we just wait and see what they say.

thats what im sayin. this upcoming winter warmup better be 100% racing no show bullshit.

Id absolutly love a chapter racing split between sac raceway and infinion, and follow it religiously

you guys have to remember that tony has the car shows to bring in the crowd... cuase honestly most racers that come to the track only come with themselves and their team mates... the car show crowds are the ones that bring in the girls and spectator... so cant knock on them... cuase i remember at the last event on saturday it was a really good turnout becuase the of the car show and then on sunday it was pretty dead when it was all racers..... Its just that tony needs to set the car show and race with more attention to racers pits. that way everyone will be happy... .. i will run CMI as long as tony will throw it.. becuase in honesty its is one of few places in california we can race anymore locally becuase all the other big venders is IDRC, NDRA, NHRA are all focuing their efforts towards the big tracks on the midwest and east coast.. i wouldnt be surprised if we lost the three races at fomoso's battle of the imports.

 

Winter Warm-up is just racing and I'm talking to three tracks right now but Infineon is out they don't have any open weekend next year.

 

you can always try and get small air stips to hold drag events like back in the day. but youll probably have to talk to insurance companys to bargin to try and get the air stips good prices on coverage. because thats why alot of the air strips stop doing drag races because insurance got to costly. you live in lodi, Kingdon air strip is no stranger to drag events, back in the day. they are located in lodi, hit them up and see what you can do. big daddy don garlits raced there in the early days. anyway just another thought, hope this sparks some other ideas.

 

the air strip better not be like the one in Redding, CA...

castle AFB hosts scca and nasa events all the time , and their runways could support b52's their like 3 miles long....

it would be hard to close an airport for a weekend to race , just about impossible

 

autox seems to have left northern california too. All SCCA solo2 sacramento chapter events are in san juaquin now and that is bullshit because thats like 400 miles from sacramento

Our local track would Love to host an Event. The only issue is Turnout, do to the 4600 ft. Elevation. The track is located 75 Mile East of Reno, NV. so you bay area guys are looking at a 5 hr. drive. There website is http://www.topgunraceway.com
