what is double clutching? how do you do it? what benefits does it have?

it has nothing to do with drag racing,you only need to about double clutching if you intend on driving an old mack truck.....

what it is...say your moving along in 1st and what to shift to 2nd so you push in the clutch,shift it out of 1st and put the shifter in neutral,release the clutch then you push it back down again and you put the shifter into 2nd.

how is that supposed to help you though? sounds to me like it would take longer to shift and slow you down.


By the way, my favorite part in the fast and furious is when that chinese dude takes the guy from the shop into his garage at gunpoint, and tells him that he needs a couple sr20 motors, when the only cars in the garage without motors are all honda's. WTF!

it doesnt help unless your drivin an old 18 wheeler with a transmission that requires you to shift it like that otherwise itll grind or you wont be able to get it into the next gear so youll have to stop and start from 1st again
