Need some advice?
I'm currently running a Zex 75 dry shot that I activate right after the burnout but I'm buying a MSD Digital 6 and need to now hook it up to come on once I let go of the 2 step. I was thinking of something similar to what they used in 2f2f for their nitrous. I would like any suggestions and if anyone knows where I can buy one of those things for over the steering wheel it would be great. TIA!!!!!
The button you can get from anumber of sources. http://www.jerrybickel.com
http://www.chassisshop.com . IF you want it exactly like 2f2f than look for sparco steering wheels with the horn buttons. AS far as activation goes look into a Nitrous pregresive controller, They can activate at any given rom and I believe gear. Hope that helps.-pdang

Don't need it the exact same but I just need the two buttons where say the left is the 2-step and then when I let go of it and hit the right one it makes my nitrous go on. Thanks for the help- bambooluv. I'll check the site's in a minute!!
SlicksMH-Thanks and hope your doing good!!!

Does anyone else have another setup that might work better? I need your help? Thanks again bambooluv I checked the site's and just want to get more ideas before I decide.
Here's how I suggest running "trigger buttons" .
On some full race cars you might see buttons attached to the steering wheel, with coiled wires running loosely down the steering column. At full lock to lock, the wires simply wrap around.
Some street cars use wireless control switches.
On most of our Team Race101 cars, this is how we do it.
The horn button is used for the linelock or similar item. For those who don't know how your stock horn button works...
One wire comes up the side of the column, and goes to a contact tab. On the back of the steering wheel, there is a contact ring/disk. The tab just drags against the disk as you turn the wheel. From the disk, the circuit goes to the horn button. When you depress the button, it closes the circuit by grounding through the center steel steering column.
I suggest running the ground/negative side of your linelock/N2O solenoid or relay through the horn circuit. The relay is prefered as some current could be lost due to the resistence in the contacts/column.
Now for the 2step...
Our Pro-Stock Civic and my VW Corrado uses the stock windsheild washer lever/switch. It's a momentary switch type, so it's perfect for a 2step. The bonus here is that we can keep BOTH hands on the steering wheel when we launch. The lever is on the right side. So, it's natural to release the lever when launch, because in 1.4 seconds, we have to pull 2nd gear.
So here's how we work it.
Pull up to the burn out box...
push hard on the brake, depress the horn/linelock button.
Stick in second gear and do burnout. (releasing linelock to let car pull out)
Pull up to the line, and pull 2step lever.
Pre-Stage
COURTESY STAGING PLEASE!!!!!
wait for the opponent to prestage
Get up revs to 2step revlimiter (out turbo cars would also be on Anti-Lag)
Ease off clutch until Staged...
lights go down and GO
release clutch and 2step lever at the same time.
On my N2O car, I used the cruise control On/Off switch to ARM the system. Then the Horn button is used to trigger the Solenoids. The Horn button did double duty as linelock and N2O trigger. Since the N20 has to be Armed and Trottle fully openned to activate, there is no trouble in the burn out box. And since the brakes have to be depressed before the linelock can hold any pressure, there isn't any issues while activating the N2O down track.
This setup is all stealth. You don't see anything that isn't stock in the steering wheel area. (.....hehe "sneaky pete")

That sound's like one hell of a cool setup. That's more like what I want, where I know I have it but no-one else does. Thanks for the great ideas ProfessorNate

Why not hook up the 2 step to the clutch switch. Very consistant and 1 less switch to worry about. And mount the nitrous switch to your preference.
I did consider that way but was just trying to get some more choices so that maybe I can have a custom setup. Thank you though and still looking for more choices please
USe a RPM window switch Arm NOS and when the 2step in working NOS wont be
When you let go of 2 step and your RPM is from 4 to 9 k the NOS will work
Its simple
