Spools are very dangerous for street use. In the event of a broken axle your in for a hell ride, plus the put alot of stress on the axles when turning. Go with a Mfactory or Quafie LSD for street & track use.

I would go with any of the three Lsd, all are good products.

Not really. I have alot of buddies running spools on the streets. They make it hard as hell to turn a FWD car at slow speeds or tight turns.

do you get a ton of chatter or where the tire scrubs bad on a semi tight turns? i've been in a mustang with a welded diff, and the inside tire would squeal and jump around, lol.

You will hate a spool. Just do it right the first time with a good lsd.

i have driven a spool on the street & its a real pain in the A$$, the tires to tend to chirp around tight corners. also the car will pull like hell to one side. when an axle breaks.. (10 times worse than "torque steer" )

a spool on the street is a bad idea, if you only going to make 500whp put a lsd in it you'll be glad you did.

For $795 why not get a Wavetrac that can stand up to high horsepower applications, installs just like a factory diff, and has a lifetime warranty? For driving around on the street it is ideal, as it mimics the factory open diff until you start to slip or lose traction on one or both tires. No wrestling with the steering wheel on the street to get where you need to go like with a spool! Give us a call if you have any specific questions toll free at 1-800-553-1055, or feel free to visit http://www.wavetrac.net

Is wavetrac's warranty the same as quaife's? Meaning racing included?

Lifetime warranty, for road racing, drag racing, autocross, street driving you name it. All you have to do is hang onto the receipt/sales invoice that you purchased the wavetrac from (ourselves or one of our authorized dealers) and be sure the diff is being installed in a transmission it is intended for (no B16 diffs in a D-series era transmission, obviously)!
