When I purchased my MSD 2-step it did not come with a switch. I bought an NOS micro switch and bracket then mounted it under my clutch pedal. You can also use a relay to with your cars present clutch switch(factory clutch switch is a negative signal need rlay to change to positive) wire that up and your set.

I used one of the factory clutch switch either the starter disable switch or the cruise switch I cant remember but im pretty sure that it was the starter disable. I also put in a second switch in line on my console that is used to disable the two step for burnouts. With the way that its setup I dont have to lift the entire quarter mile, the clutch switch alows you to shift at full throttle without over reving and have still have the launch rpm feature. The thing I like about this setup is its almost idiot proof.

No technical reason or anything, I would just rather have control of my 2 step at my fingertips.

this is the way i did it too, it works great
arm the switch, use 1 relay, i got everything wired so when my e-brake is up it acts like launch control, drop the ebrake and the clutch switch is for full throtle

I've never wired it up with a seperate switch as you have posted, nor have I done it over the stock clutch switch(es)... Typically I tap off the E-brake gnd. use a relay to reverse the polarity, then send the 12V+ to the MSD box to activate the 2-step just as you normally would... It just works easiest for us since most of the cars are on bigger slicks (like to roll easy at the line) and if you're preloading the clutch a little at the line you need the E-brake up anyways... If we're running an Innovative MSBC (clutch switch output only for gear dependant boost levels) this is how I wire it, below is a diagram I made awhile back... Very simple and it seems to work fine... Just my $0.02

msd 2 steps dont come with a switch. I went to a local electronics store and bought a momentary push button switch and mounted it on my steering wheel. works great, can be used for burnouts that way, too.
My Haltech E6K has a 2-step feature built into it. If I wire it up using the clutch switch (NSS) and set it at 6500RPM, what happens when I put the clutch in at a 8000RPM shift? Will anything odd happen like big *** puffs of unburnt fuel?
That's one thing I've always considered and probably the reason I don't wire the 2-step into the clutch switch... When I get time I'm going to work on a circuit that allows you to push a button at the line, step in the clutch to activate the 2-step, then after you launch, it turns off... "If the motor isn't actually trying to rev up (i.e. you're off the gas) and the 2-step is activated which just pulls timing at a fixed rev limit does it seem like your motor should run different when you're already over the set rpm?" I haven't actually tried this but as long as you're uplifting on shifts I think you'll be okay... Not sure tho, hehe... If you run it let us know how it does... Latez, -Adam
