Around 140-145mph for me. The tires get hot pretty quick at that speed and it hooks hard out of it sometimes. I don't have a staging brake, but I doubt the skinnies could hold the car with the wheelie bars anyway.

you only need to get your tires hot its not so much about the speed as much as hot who cares how fast you are going when you burn out. the thing is the tire if you are on soft tread street tires then dont even bother your wasting your time. the tire will do the same.if its hard tred then yoou might want to burn them a little but this will inly help if the line has a lot of rubber on it from other cars to stick to. grag tires are the way to go. the tire is made for that reason and it dosnt take much to get them hot so dont waste them i did a burn off comp. last year and did good. i want from full tread to no tread in 60 sec. thats how much time it took to make a good tire bald. you can watch my video on my home page. look in my profile for the link.

Is the best gear to do burnouts in 2nd or 3rd? I've been doing 2nd for a while now but it doesn't seem to do that great out a burnout.

Speaking of the VX trans, I had one in my DD 94 EX coupe, effing miserable to drive. Always bogged clutching into 1st, and I never even used 5th... almost 90mph in 2nd and 140 or so in 3rd, at the stock 7400rpm limiter sucks! I figured it up once, if it had the power, it could do something like 260mph at stock redline in 5th

You know what I've been wanting to do???
Start in 3rd and shift to 4th, since I have Dog Box...

The rwd cars with like G-force and Liberty do it, I wonder if it would be ok

Anybody with a Dog Box tried it???

BTW I do the burnouts in 3rd, so I guess somewhere in the 123-128mph.
