Default measuring tools

looking for some info on what you guys and girls have used and had success with and what not to buy. looking for ideas on everything.
best micrometers
dial bore gauges
calipers
honda valve spring seat pressure tools
valve spring height tools
what to measure rod bore and the correct way to do so
maybe some tricks you guys have learned to save a little time and money
i have been building engines for a long time, but im now getting to the point were 800+hp motors need more than to just have all yellow main bearings and rod bearings! im buying the cam fixture kit that xenocron sells to set my cams but would like to have more tools to measure more stuff in the head. thanks for any help and im sure there are alot of people on here that would really like some of this info as well

i personally use all mitutoyo digital caliper , mics , dial bore guage ..HANDS DOWN the best brand when it comes to engine building .. pretty expensive ( i got close to 9K in mitutoyo digital/analog tools) but accurate down to .0001 +/-

if using digital just make sure u get them calibrated yearly ..i got a friend who works at an aerospace machine shop .. so i get them checked/calbirated out every 6-7 engine assembled/built ..

cant help you with spring height & seat pressure .. i tend to leave that to cncport , headgames or local machine shops to handle .. as i send out all my heads ..

any more input from other members would be great .. love adding tools to the collection ..

i bought all fowler mics and calipers, snapon dial bore gauge. i just like to do my stuff my self. it would just be nice to be able to just pop a spring off and measure it or in between runs when checking valve lash being able to ck seat pressure real quick. the reason for wanting to measure installed spring height is because im dealing with skunk2 right now on some cams that im having premature wear problems with and they wanted to know what the installed spring height was.
