Is it me or the extra weight?

I ran my car (1995 civic coupe ex) last year with just a aem cai and got a 16.28 . This year that same aem cai injested water and killed the motor. Now I have a 1994 B18b1. This time at the track my car was lowered, had 17" wheels, about 200lbs of stereo, Aem Cai from the civic ex, and Dc sports 4-1 header. I ran a 16.25
Could all the extra weight and the wheels have contributed to my bad times or is it me? Also my 60' times are higher but my trap speed is now 86 mph instead of 83.

I was mainly curious what a LS is suppose to run with my mods. Also I knew it was going to be slow but not that slow! I am trying to decide what my next move is. I am also wating for my hi-flow cat and exaust. I am not sure if the back pressure for my stock ex exaust is hurting me a great deal or just a small amount.
I have a 95 EX with a Bonestock 96 B18B swap, no AC/PS, 15" Slipstreams (12lbs per wheel) w/ Kumho rubber, No rear interior...
Best time: Back to back 15.1's @ 90-91mph.
The added rotational mass of the 17 plus the stereo equip and such will hold you back...
The altitude, weather conditions, etc... Could also be effecting your times.

The extra weight and especialy the 17's are killing you.
I refuse to believe this.
These are some IMPRESSIVE times with your setup. Estimate about how much would losing power steering and A/C shave off your et?

Also get a 2.75 AEM instead of the 2.5 civic one. Could help out a little. Basicly sounds like you were unprepared for the track. 17's, high tire pressure, no weight reduction. Your time sounds about right to me but lose the weight and work with the car more and you'll see some mid 15's.

The main thing is the 17" wheels, it might be just like adding 400lbs to the car. You'll be slow off the line and the weight that the motor has to push through the wheels is too much.
So getting similar times to your SOHC is not unexpected.
Get rid of the 17's, those belong to show cars or non-drag racers.
You shouldnt go higher than a 15" when drag racing.

You have to remember that your single cam is supposed to make 125 crank hp and the LS motor is supposed to make 140 crank hp...so theres not a huge hp increase and the fact off 200 pounds(at least gets a hit of 2/10ths) and the wheels...sounds about right.
