Default Looking For High comp pistons

Just wondering if anyone would happen to know of a really good high compression piston in the 15:1 to 16.5:1 compression range? i have yet to be able to find any that are just off the shelf buys any help is greatly apreciated.

Reach out to Arias (www.ariaspistons.com). They have manufactured High Comp. pistons for me (from 15 to 18.4:1). Excellent engineering and longevity as well.

I use ARIAS they have some 86mm pistons for the B motor in stock I think it is close to 15 to 1

Have you seen the new D-Sport mag ? there is a buyers guide on pistons From what I can tell the Arias has the best quailty for the money.

you dont necessarily need huge piston domes to have high comp.

ib spec wiseco super dupers has some high compression pistons.

Really

Could you explain how that would work.

The way I see it even if you have a big stroke you would still have a good size dome to get 15.to 15.5 comp

Exactly right. It all depends on the stroke of the engine...

We use Arias Custom Pistons all the Time. FAST turn around. less than 4 weeks. We've done Custom from other companies before like JE and took over 8 weeks.

you can run a milled head, thinner head gasket, flat faced valves, and something else I cant remember at the moment.

however for some domestic cars, they run a huge dommed pistons. they take a clay or laser measurments and basically match the whole combustion face to the pistons with valve clearance.

it looks really weird because its non symetrical like our 4 valve stuff.

maybe someone more familar with piston design can explain why its not always best to run a big dommed piston.

im sure its not much easier to tune when you have an uber high compression.

To big of dome will cause inferior flame travel. Bigger is not always better

that may be true in a V8 application where the valves are offset and spark plugs come in from differnt angles depending on the make of the head. what do u think about import stuff tom???
hondas are symetrical from intake to exhaust with exception of the intake valves being bigger and the damn spark plug is right in the middle. cant get any more brilliant than that. have u seen any differences with a smaller dome piston vs a big dome piston??? of course i dont think anyone can prove this theory unless they just did a piston swap. most of the info would prolly be motor A w/ big dome VS motor B with small dome.

yeah I know t-bone, im talking about increasing compression not making power.
