Default Lexan install help!!!!

I've already searched and learned how to cut the lexan and install it, but I need to know what size/length of rivets to use??? Also, I read that I should drill the holes in the lexan a little bigger for expansion and contracting purposes. Is this true???

You sould consider using counter sunk allen head screws with a nut becuase you can't control the amount of clamping for or adjust clamping force with a pop rivet... plus its a much cleaner look... In places where you can't put a nut on the back side use a rivet nut or a nutsert so you can screw the window in with out having to hold the nut on the back side...

To answer your question no you don't have to drill the window oversized most of the time it breaks or starts to crush the window becuase like i said with a pop rivet you can't control the clamping force...

These are the rivets that I used for my windows and I didn't have any cracking at all. Aluminum rivets put less stress on the window and these have a larger head to more evenly distribute the pressue.

How did you guys mount the lexan on the doors?? It just doesn't seem like there is enough of a lip at the top and bottom of the door to rivet them in. Did you have to weld in tabs??

I didn't put any tabs on the door just pulled on the rubber gasket and put the rivets into the frame. There's pictures around in another post if you want to search for them.

i've searched countless times, but I just can't find any posts that say how they riveted the Lexan to the CRX doors.

Thanks for your help though...
