Im gonna be towing with a 05' Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 Tow package equipped
Looking for a enclosed trailer, 24+ feet? side door, floruecent lighting, brakes, dual or tripple axle. etc etc. what do you guys recommend, and where did you buy yours from?
I hear Wells cargo is good, also heard trailer world will custom make you a trailer for a great price. Wanna spend UNDER 10K

H&H trailers are nice, you can get one in Tracey http://www.travlntoys.com

I hope you're not towing far with the 1/2 ton.

yes it will "work" but it's not gonna be very strong. That truck will be getting a work out on the grapevine.

Keep in mind a 24' trailer weighs somewhere around 4500-5K pounds.

My H&H 24' is 4800lbs and I tow it with a 2500HD 3/4 ton Silverado.

Pulling is not an issue, stopping is. It will pull it with the rear bumper dragging the ground so get the booster springs for the rear of the truck. Make sure the trailer has electric brakes too. Your gas mileage is gonna go to **** because your foot will be to the floor 99% of the time.

I have the same truck except 2006 and it struggled with my talon and an open trailer. Got 8mpg from Dallas to Tuscaloosa, al.

Ha! Finally a subject I can help with , lol , we got a 28 Haulmark we purchase it brand new and nothing but problems which you can expect, however the customer service from them direct is just plain garbage since all of their dealers are independent you may want to consider the following options

1) I think a good second hand is the smart choice , by then all the bugs should be out and you can save Huge money.

2) A/C, not today not tomorrow but the day will come that you are going to regret not having one, I can tell you that it makes a huge difference when you are out there trust me on this one.

3) As mentioned before Racingjunk.com you can find many many of them if you take your time you can get a real nice one and still save money

4) Im not sure but you may want to look into the ones that have living qtrs all do the car space is limited you can save big on hotels( just an idea)

Hope that helps

Oh yeah that 1500 is going to be a dog. What motor did you get? You either need to get a supercharger for it or I would think about a different truck especially with today's gas prices.

Truthfully diesel is the way to go if you know you are going to be towing, whether it's all the time or just a few times during the year. I work for a supercharger company that makes kits for gas trucks but you just can't beat a diesel for towing.

i had a 26' pace shadow gt and i towed it with the 1500. it wasnt all that bad man, and it really didnt sag that much either, you just have to adjust to different ways of transporting, i used to put my car in backwards so that the motor or heavy side would be at the tail end so that it wouldnt put soo much tongue wieght and never had an issue. the grapevine is a pain and youll eat up the stock trans quick if you dont have a shift kit, and yes it is underpowered but then again you dont have to drive 70 in the grapevine like you want to!! lol!! just keep it easy in the hills and inclines and youll be alright

but i switch over to a 2005 3/4 ton hd with the duramax and allison, and hopefully picking up a new 32 inclosed for the rest of the year. i got to roll in style baby!

3/4 are out of the price range. The chevy 1500HD with tow package and oil cooler should do it. if anything ill get the air bag assist rear helpers.

I will post more tommorw b/c I am beat right now. But I just bought a really nice truck trailer combo off of racingjunk.com. I had to drive out to MN to pick it up but it was well worth it. The truck is a chevy k3500 gas and I got 10mpg towing it back from MN to PA with a Mini Cooper S in the trailer.

I got a 34ft vintage enclosed trailer. The trailer is fully insulated and has a bunch of options as you will see from the pics. I am planning on buying an ac/heat unit for the trailer and this winter prob framing off 10 feet or so and make a living area of out if so I can sleep in it at the track.

My best suggestion is if you want a good price check racing junk everyday and try and find someone trying to unload one quickly. I looked for almost a year till I found a combo that fit my budget and I can not be happier as of now.

Here is a link to some pics of it. You may have to register to see them not sure.

i would be afraid of jackknifing a half ton with a 24+ ft trailer. i have a 00 crew cab f-350 7.3L and a 27' haulmark. its actually more comfortable towing the trailer with a car in it than without a load. either way, cant really tell a trailer is behind you.

dual axle trailer with brakes, im totally happy with the trailer also, i put in cabinets, winch, plasma, welder, torch, generator, im happy.

poor customer service

Rust on the doors

Panels falling off

Electrical fault that cost me $400 to fix

Back door locking device is a very poor design, and I stop here

We drove from Florida to Atlanta, for the Nopi Nationals with a 3900pnd Skyline in the back the truck is just a beast!

racingjunk get a used trailer save some dough or get more nice things like a nice finished trailer with a genrator/lights and/or a/c.

While you truck can tow that size trailer the first time you make a panic stop or have to chnage lanes quickly or get into trouble your going to know exactly why everyone is saying thats not enough truck.
