Hey,
I was wondering why I can launch my 97 civic ex at 4500 rpm with
MINIMAL tire spin on WORN stock mixed up tires so easily.
And here i here alot of people talk about how they have to go as low
as 4000 with aftermarket as probably wider tires to get a decent launch off.
Am I missing something here?? Can my stock tach be off?
Cause I can consistently launch at 4500-5000 on ghetto stocks no problem.

Your motor is not strong enough to spin the tires, or your clutch is SHOT....

Your motor is not strong enough to spin the tires, or your clutch is SHOT....

I dunno, when my GSR was stock I was spinning the tires like CRAZY launching at 4,000rpm with stock clutch and stock SHITTY michelin's... And if you can launch at 6k rpm with stock tires, I think you have a problem...
In all seriousness... It may very well be your clutch man... If you clutch isn't grabbing hard, then it won't jolt the wheels enough to make them lose traction... OR You may be very good at launching your car with stock tires!!

just drive the car, unitll the car feels like it does grab anymore, then when you start to smell clutch buring, and your stuck on the side of the road, thats when you'll know the signs of the clutch going!!!
