Default ITBs really that good?

Would an NA motor benefit much from individual throttle bodies?

And is that a good idea for a daily driver? I suppose on the backside of the engine not much debris could get to it but still...

Thanks.

For a street car no.

I use TWM ITB's on my hatch with a fully built 1.8 gsr with 13.5 cr and toda C's and I have no trouble and idles between 900-1100rpm. Tuned by Ralphy at DRT..I've seen a filter for them from i believe "itg" from england. TWM used to sell them along with the adapter plate they made but they stopped ...TWM also makes a fiberglass/ceramic intake manifold with I tried but I found it to kill your top end...I drive my car everyday and as a matter of fact went to Etown yesterday for the survivor series event and was #1 qualifier@12.3/108mph weighing 2300lbs. I use no filters and never had a problem...

I would assume ITB's help ALOT for allmotor. The BMW m3's and M5's have ITB's and look at the hp/displacement numbers. The M3 motor is more HP/liter powerful then b16s and even JDM b18's. Plus the ITB's look so sick. ahhh...beautiful allmotor power!

No, I use a GSR crank but I heard of that combo but I forgot which stock rod was used but they told me it worked with a slightly thicker headgasket cause the piston skirt would stick out just a hair above the deck... I really like to keep things simple rather then test hybrid combo's like that.. I rather go crazy with compression and cams but that's just me...But it doesn't hurt to try if your willing...

To B-man,
I noticed when I changed over from skunk2 manifold to the ITB's the powerband was extended an additional 1000rpms.. Peak went from 8200rpms/mani. to 9200rpmsw/ ITB's and the torque band was also extended ,from dropping off at 7100rpm too 8200rpm w/ ITB's...and just an over all gain through out the whole powerband plus the scream that comes out from under the hood is insane....

this may be off topic, but were you disappointed with 12.3 on that crazy compression and on individuals?

Hmm...im a little curious about the whole setup. How are all the sensors redone? Where is vacume measured on ITB's, just a random cylinder? seems like it would confuse the ECU. And whats the HP gains of going ITB (on a reasonably built motor ofcourse) lets say, LS-vtec runin ITR pistons redlinin at 8500? Theres something about all-motor power thats just intoxicating. Im definitely going natural (aspiration) on my next civic.

I'm not disapointed at all, my car is heavy as hell at 2300lbs, and I'm only at 81.5 bore and stock stroke...no 2liter here but coming soon..As far as the sensors I use Accel DFI 7.0... Vaccuum for the ITB's is simple , tap each runner and run a hose from each runner to a vaccuum canister which gets connected to the brake master cylinder thingy
