Default Intercooler core size

So I am looking at making a backdoor intercooler setup. So I was looking at these 2 cores to fit my DA

I will be making around 675-700whp and would hate to have pressure drop or heat soak, just looking for some insight.

You'll want a thicker core for that power. Those cores are rated for 500hp or less.

I would suggest you purchase this core to get to your horsepower goal and still be on the safe side.

I wouldn't do either one of those. I would do:

18x11.2x4.5 - Thicker, but still 18" long which will give you plenty of room to build endtanks that are still between the frame rail for your dual backdoor.

24x10.3x3.5 - Shorter will help fitment behind a DA bumper, but its longer. Still leaves room for dual backdoor endtanks. I have fit this core with dual backdoor endtanks on an EG.

500hp? both of these cores are rated at or above 600hp according to garrett.

I've seen 700+whp on the 20x11x3" core before. The hot side was extremely hot and the cold side of the intercooler was cool to the touch after many dyno pulls, it got the job done but I don't believe the customer intended to make that much power originally and would have gone larger if he planned on 700whp from the start. the 18x12x3" rating might not be right, garrett rates it at 750hp, this has always looked odd to me.
