INDY
Gary wins with a 7.33, they didn't say what time Jason ran but did say Gary got the lite on Jason. Jason holds the record.
Boris Rojas wins with a 7.80 and I don't think Many had a good pass, the safety safari is to work on the track.
Congratulations to Gary and Boris on the wins and Jason for the record.

W/L Driver R-Time E-Time Speed
(W) Gary Gardella ('07 Cobalt) 0.028 7.335 197.59
(L) Jason Hunt ('07 Cobalt) 0.048 7.412 200.02
4:42 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 91 degrees, relative humidity 28 percent, barometer 29.15 inches, adjusted altitude 3,208 feet, track temperature 122 degrees.
The first finals of the weekend come to the line.
Two Chevrolet Cobalt's with "hair dryer" come to the line. Two decent lights and they run together to the finish line. Gardella gets the advantage initially and then Hunt sneaks on by and pulls away to take almost a 30 foot lead in the lights.
CLERMONT, Ind. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of final, round 2 eliminations in Pro RWD at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 53rd annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals:
W/L Driver R-Time E-Time Speed
(W) Boris Rojas ('04Mazda) 0.706 7.802 163.04
(L) Manny Cruz ('02 Cougar) 0.200 10.755 90.49
It's a battle of eastern racers and Cougar vs Mazda (Ranger clone for those of you keeping score at home).
Cruz leaves first by a bunch. His Cougar starts breaking up and puffing smoke just before half track and Rojas shoots by.
Boris wins by a train length but starts smokingly heavily on the big end and across the finish line.
The track crew is rolling for a cleanup in both lanes with the emphasis on the right lane.
I'll give it to the FWD guys - that was a great show.

i sure thought Greg Anderson was going to pull out the 5th victory in a row. he was on a roll, but just could slap a big enough holeshot on connolly to pull it out. Its going to be interesting down the stretch. i felt bad for Matt Smith in PSM...a redlight.....OUCH!

He seems really cocky to me. I mean, he has all the reason in the world to be but i'm just constantly impressed with people like Connolly/Coughlin. I guess it's just a root for the underdog type of thing but Connolly/Coughlin have both impressed me for years for the talent they have as drivers.
Plus, Anderson looks a lot like my cousin's new husband and that guy is the worst.

I don't think so, The crowd went absolutely wild when Connolly beat Anderson. I have never heard the crowd make so much noise over one race. Between the fans of Connolly, and the Anderson haters, that made up pretty much the whole audience...haha.
I don't think it's that people hate Anderson, people just get tired of the same person winning over and over again. I was glad to see Connolly take him out. It's just nice seeing them mixing it up in Pro Stock once again. And besides that, it was an excellent race.

man let me tell you... that indy race was incredible! There is nothing like Powerade. It was a great experience, especially at the US Nationals. You're in your pit working on your cars listening to top fuel cars qualify... it's something else.
I have to say the Sport Compact guys put on a great show... Gary, Chris, Jason, Marty all posted best times. There was so much exposure of these cars and such great responses from fans, nhra guys, sponsors, and fellow racers alike. And that final of Gary vs Jason was awesome. They both had awesome lights, and they ran the pairing right before they did the pro finals so all the spectators got to witness it. For the fans to see side by side 200mph qualifying sessions by FWD cars, there isn't really anything else they can do but be amazed....
can't wait for texas.

Not a Anderson fan either, and Carey is right I cant stand to see him win over and over. Connolly and Justin in PS, Hight and Mike Ashley in FC, JR Todd & bernstein in TF. I think JR Todd is schumacher's Kryptonite.
The finals looked to be pretty crazy for ProFWD. Good job guys...

let me tell you... watching the finals was awesome from behind the starting line... Connely vs Andserson was amazing... connely got real loose but held it all the way down... you should have seen him in the winners circle he was standing on the roof of his car!

ya its kinda like ProRWD. Not hating on Personnet or anything, he's a great driver, but its cool once in a while to see some variety in winners.
but ya, not a big fan of anderson but dont hate him, its W.Johnson that I cant stand. haha.
