Default I need desperate help......(engine builders - know it alls - experts) PLEASE HELP

I just got back my head after being ported and flowbenched etc, h22a head and i lost down low. I didn't think i lost that much but i some what did until 180 lift area. I gained up top but around 375 lift it falls again, (lower than stock at 400 by 3%). Engine builder that flowed it on a superflow 300 said a valve job would increase those numbers as i really do need one (domestic guy), i'm curious on what angles are needed and work best for honda h22a prelude vtec heads.... I looked on "alaniztechnologies.com" and he said a special combination is used but they don't divulge it and no other porting or valve job sites do.... i'm like so in trouble because i fear this head that now flows superior from from 160-350 as high as 14% is a waisted casting...

after all I bought a full crower EIbach headset and Stage 3 cams

Int-.472 mid Exh-.466 mid (if i fall at 400, then these cams are useless.... basically)

any opinions or suggestions are highly appreciated because as of now i'm looking for another casting..... unless some people can help me sold or help this one out.... it's like a huge midrange but no bottom end or top end.... my center divider is still large so that might help top end ? or are they other ways.... i should have pics avail soon....

The angled valve job will increase top end lift, but even if just slightly, think of the time you actually spend above .400. You spend lots more time below .400 than above, thats why a head ported to flow best below .400 will outperform one whos concentration was only on high lift.

Call Darren & R&D Dyno. He has a lot of experience with this head.

last time i talked to alianz they said about the same thing they told you. What they do with a h22a head is completly different then a b head. Imporoving over the 400 range doesnt really work on our heads. Actually it will lose power just because you end up losing 100-350. Someone above said that you want to concentrate on below 400, that is the best idea, how to do that is difficult. I think that most cams wont be able to utilize anything over 450 but that is a guess. A large increase can be made in the mid by using a tighter bowl <-- never tried it, but its what i hear(i dont really understand this, but supposedly opposite works here). This head is really wired in that it doesnt respond to conventional procedures. You might want to just give up some money and take it portflow or alianz. I would go with alianz much better to deal with. The other guys seem to brush you off real fast. thats just personal trash talking so dont mind my ranting, they still do a hell of a job. Sorry i wasnt much help, ask 2point6 i think hes gotten some good results.

Don't toss it. A good head guy can fix it OR it will flow like a ***** with a turbo on it.

Makes no difference on the flow charactoristics if its a turbo car or not. It all depends on the cam profile and the efficency of the head. You can make the flow bench test and read what ever you want. The gains that were shown on that graph u showed me basicly ment nothing because there are no numbers to back anything up.

send pics of it to Tom @ Portflow, ask him if he can correct the ported and recut the valve angles ... he's build numerous high powered h22a head so he knows exactly what they need...

btw, what h20 pressure were these tests done at ?

10`inch ... i basically copied the stock graph from the alaniz street port head, and said you should baseline the same as he did but do the same test with mine.. the mesurements were not impressive.. well maybe for a n/a head im not an expert at this but lost bottom end but gained top end... let me try to ftp the image on the net to show you... i`m like debating, i can get another complete head, for well a fair chunk, and send it off, but i want a good job for a good price, i know i won`t get a pro head for a little ammount but dont`wanna pay for something that`s only unruffed up the ridge and they call it a ported head... you know what i mean.... also i`m in canada so doubling up the damn exchange rate i`ts like buying a new set of crower ibeam rods... i know it sucks big time.....

.....

any recommendations or proven company`s will get my business i also need to know the turn around time, because i`d like to get this motor fired by march and well shipping the head might take a good week or two, if not the quote is above 250US for shipping .... another lowball for canadians....

hopefully none of you guys hate us canadians ahahahah ...

any info is nice, at this point if you guys want the head let me know cause i`m going na, if you guys want it for turbo i`ll have pics, chamber work is fully polished and the porting is well done, but not for n/a i guess.... send me your emails and i`ll send you pics....

thanx for your comments and help it`s much appreciated !!

i`m gonna go now, the pc is starting to melt the ice in my igloo ! (HAHAHAHAHAHA)
