How To: Launch
Ok... this is gonna sound kind of dumb.. but im new to the racing scene and i want to race but have NO clue on how to launch... ive tried and just dont understand how to... soo would someone like to explain how?
I recommend:
Rev and hold it between 4-5k. Every car's launch point will be different, that's something you'll have to learn youself.
If the track is using the standard tree, start your launch on the 3rd yellow. NOT when you see green. Feather the clutch until wheelspin ceases, then drop it out and nail the gas.
I would also try dumping the clutch a few times, meaning hold it between 4-5k and just dropping the clutch and nailing the gas. That's much easier than feathering.
As far as shifting, shift right before your rev limiter, not your red line. Concentrate on shifting.

Honestly, the best way to learn to feather the throttle properly and control wheelspin is to start small. Launching should not be some abusive practice or anything far from regualar driving.
Leave the line like you do during normal driving, then each time you launch try to get the launch speed progressively faster, in the end the rpms will be getting higher and the letting out of the clutch will be a very fast release, not a dumb...
You'll learn how to modulate throttle and clutch in order to control wheelspin...
Different cars are different as well. With big slicks often leaving the line at 8000+rpms with a super fast dump will be the perfect way if you grip. If you don't you may need to back off on the throttle a bit...Also on all-motor cars you can rev to w/e rpm lets say 7500 on slicks, and dump the clutch with 50% throttle, the car will jump out of the hole, and already be gripped b/c no power, as soon as it's gripped FLOOR IT and you'll have full traction.
You can't do that on turbo cars becase with turbo cars you need to keep the throttle in at all times or you will fall out of boost and the car will fall on it's face..
