Default hondata cable

i have a hondata s200, need a serial cable

but all ive seen is a serial to serial cable

but was wondering if a USB to serial would work so i can hook up the hondata to my laptop?

there are serial-to-USB adapters, so I'd imagine people make cables that do the conversion internally as well.

The romeditor v4 converts the serial cable to a usb cable. Contact an authorized hondata dealer to purchase the software/hardware package.

in the long run its cheaper to go s300 instead of buying re4 with cable and ****.

I had problems using a serial-to-USB converter for the datalogger. I had to use a serial-only cable to keep it from dropping the connection less than a minute after hitting F10.

The realtime programming worked okay with the serial-to-USB converter which was critical because I only had one serial port.

thank you IN VTEC for staying on the subject

and for the rest of you , the hondata software is FREE from the hondata website..........to bad you really didnt know that........

but there is a Laptop expansion card that gives you a serial port on the laptop. im going to get it and see if it run alright

go to radio shack and get the Serial to USB cable. thats what i use with hondata

The datalogging software is free. The rom editor 4 softaware is free but you can not save anything unless you buy the cable from hondata.
