Highest compression on a boosted set-up?
My old B motor was somewhere above 12:1, 84mm LS block, B16 head, 2cc Dome wisecos
With a 42R it made around 510whp@11-12psi, 635whp@20psi. That is as far as we took it.

How long did the motor last or what happened to it?

that motor of jeffs is still together from what he told me. Its been together for a while. I remember building it for him like 2 winters ago

my old 35r motor was 12.5:1 +. made 550 @ 18lbs of boost, and maxed its self out at 25psi. it was on sunoco 115 octane fuel back then. seemed to last pretty well until 2 injectors quit firing haha

Nothing happened to it. Joe just pulled it apart to make sure it was cool, we are using that as the spare motor for the integra this season. It was tuned on C16.
From what Joe has told me, higher compression isn't much harder to tune, it just leaves less room for error..? Either way, it seems to make sick power at lower amounts of boost.

I know 10-12:1 is common among methanol pro cars. I asked Mark about it when I had him sleeve my SR20, and he suggested just staying around 9:1 for a gas setup. He basically said it all came out as a wash. Basically, its either 11:1 and 30 psi, or 9:1 and 40psi. Both will end up being similar in reliability and such. So, I took his advice and am running shelf CP's @ 9:1.

My 12ish:1 LS/Vtec just made 803whp the other night. Would have pushed it more, but the motor still has standard wrist pins and off the shelf Wiseco pistons. This was done with B16 Cams lol.
