okay, I'm in a pinch here and need some slicks ASAP but after calculating with the mfactory gear calculator it seems as if I'd need 24.5" tires if I want to be at the top of 4th gear crossing the traps. The 22" slicks are rated to 80mph if I remember right. Should I go with the 22" or 23" and shift to 5th gear if I have to? /they are going on 15" wheels.

k24a4 about 160-170 ft lbs. of torque
k20a2 tranny (rsx type s)
7300rpm redline

 

Its a toss up between the 24's and the 23's, seeing as you are on the 15'' wheel, i would lean towards the 24.5. That way you don't have to shift into 5th, you will have better traction and you have room to grow if you decide to up the power

 

chassis? and y are you rating ur tq so low? tuned k20s make 160-170 tq

BTW, 22inch slicks were too small, as were the 23inch street tires. Had to coast the last 50 or so feet or shift to fifth gear. The 24.5" tires would've been perfect had the fender not have been fubar'd
