clean car man. i run 23's at the track and they barely clear the fenders and im only lowered 1.5-2 inches or so (stock shocks with eibach springs.) They actually rub the fender slightly when im braking after the run but i think part of that is because my suspension is soft. You may have to adjust your ride height even with 23's, definitely with 24.5s. i would recommend using a wider wheel than an ITR so that the slick has a even contact patch. If you use a 8 inch, or even 7.5 inch wheel youll have much better results than with with a 6.5 (?) inch wheel. If you just want to have some fun and arent going for the best ET possible then the ITR wheels with the M&Hs you listed will work fine. If you really want to see what the car is capable of, get some 13 inch wheels (lensos, vms, circle track, etc) with 24.5s.
You're really going to want a 24.5" tall slick. MT and M&H make a few sizes in 15". You will also want a 15x8 or 15x9 wheel.

I really don’t think any 13 inch wheel would clear my brake calipers. The 15 inch ITR wheels barely clear them lol.
Do you have a specific 15x8 wheel in mind? What offset?
I’m just wanting to get some traction and run a respectable time, but also if I am going to spend the money I might as well do it right

ah that makes sense, i see you are running a nice brake package. i actually had to clearance my calipers and i have stock ex/si brakes lol. Any aftermarket 15x8 should be fine and with all the stance garbage these days there is a plethora of 15x8 options with most being between 0 and +25 offset. i think something around +25 or 30 would clear everything but im not 100% sure, youll need to confirm before buying anything.

Alright thanks man.. I wish someone could chime in and let me know what would be a good wheel choice and offset, that would also clear spoon calipers.
Alright guys.. I have found two 15x8 wheels that will clear my calipers. The question is should I go 23 or 24.5 inch slicks? Will there be a significant difference in traction?
This zeal calculator gives a great estimation, however the height of the tire will be dependent on your cars end trap speed and gear ratio. Best of luck.
If you have a gsr tranny and that much power you will want 24.5 tire. Are you revving out at the end of the 1/4? If you are using an LS gearset it would be a different story.

Thanks guys... the car has never seen the drag strip so I have no idea lol.
Any tips on what I should begin to launch at? Obviously preload the clutch. I believe my two step is set way too high on s300 right now. How about tire pressure? How long of burnouts?
Geez... I’m doing a pretty good job at getting myself in predicaments. I worried too much about finding a wheel to clear my calipers and didn’t think about clearance on the inside and it’s going to be TIGHT. 15x8 +40
My question is there a way to make this work with a spacer? Would 5mm even help me here?
The tread width is 9.4 on these slicks.. slicks grow, but narrow right? If this will clear and it’s tight do i need to be concerned about the tire getting wider at any point?
AutoZone sells 1/4 inch thick spacers that might be enough for your setup. I paid $17 for a pair. I assume you have extended wheel studs, and if that's the case, you could comfortably run a 1/2 spacer.
2 step rpm is something you'll have to play with. Mine is set at 5100 and it's a little too low, if track prep is good and it hooks, I'll bog off the line. I would start with something around 5500 rpm.
tire psi is also something youll have to experiment with. Start with 9 or 10 and lower it .5 psi every run till you find the best pressure. Some guys run as low as 6.5 but most run 7.5. 7.5-8 has yielded the best 60fts for me. I use an accutire digital gauge i got on eBay for around 10 or 15 bucks.
I usually do 5-6 second burnouts in 2nd gear. You def want to get some heat in them but there's no need to burn them 10 or 15 seconds like the big v8 cars do.

Just wanted to give an update... I did not end up using spacers and they cleared. I raised the car up a little bit and took it down the street and made a couple test hits and no rubbing... or none that I can see
looking forward to seeing results!!! Car looks good on the meat!!!!
Thanks man. I’m not sure if I’m going to make it to the track this year or not. It turned cold very fast in Tennessee. Not sure if I’ll be off on another track day this year
I would look at getting 24.5. the problem with 23's you have less flex in the sidewall and may cause problems in the future with shock on the trans and axles. I ran 24.5 x 8 x 15's at 7psi. Launch control 6.5k at a start. Key thing is to make sure you preload properly before launching.

I will definitely consider that for next time.. I have been reading a lot on preloading and watching in car video, I guess it’s just going to take some seat time.
Another tip is do at the very least a full long 2nd gear burnout, 3rd gear is even better. You need to get enough heat into the tires to make them work right. I like to do my burnout to the point where the car starts pulling itself through the water box with the rear tires locked up. Car looks good man!

thanks for the tip man.. it’s almost that time, can’t wait to get to the track!
