Default help launching, tips, tricks, etc.?

i've got a 95 eg coupe w/ an jdm itr, intake/exhaust, and ats final drive of 5.077 ( i think that's right?) suspension set up is just stock shocks w/ Eibach Pro kit springs. i also have a Lakewood tracion bar. i'm running on falken azenis RT-615's. interior is stripped minus the dash.

i've adjusted the traction bar both extending and shortening to the max and have had no luck improving my 60ft times. i'm launching at 3k and still have wheel hop.

should i launch at a higher rpm? how do i set up the traction bar correctly? or do you think adjustable shocks will do the trick?

any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. oh and right now i'm running on average 14.25's @ 98mph, with 2.5sec 60ft time. i know this could do better

traction bars are mainly to help cure wheel hop. what kind of tire pressure are you using? azenis arent the best for drag racing but can definitely do better than 2.5 60fts. try launching a little higher RPM. are you hitting 5th in the 1/4 with that final drive? lol search the archives there is a ton of info available.

if you still have wheel hop i'd look into your engine mounts and get urathane inserts or upgraded replacements.

i would run your tires around 12lbs and put a little heat into them (short first gear burnout). you should be turning 2.0-2.1 60ft. keep in mind a little tire spin is better than bogging.

you need to apply force against the control arm pushing it back because when you launch the tires are trying to force the control arms forward.

this is a pain but you can also take your hood off and make a pass to see if the motor is jumping around. sometime inserts are not enough.

I am no expert at all so if I get this a little off please help me out guys I'm just a weekend racer.

when you pull up to the line pull up your e-break and hold the button with your right hand.

Let off the clutch slowly until you feel the car lift up or move a bit. It will feel like the car is trying to take off and some one has it by the shirt.

hold the clutch at that position when the light goes green, drop the e-brake down and let off the clutch and stomp the gas

You'll get a feel for what you neeed and what rpm to not spin too much.

But what this does is make the drivetrain ready to go and soild before you launch and removes any sloppy play it might have so stuff doesn't slam off of other drivetrain components

I launched last night at around 3 grand, feathering the clutch, on some shitty *** tires and spun till 3rd. It sucked.

IMO, its all about the tires sometimes. If you have the power its just going to spin no matter how you launch if its on shitty tires.
