Default Helmets anyone?

What kind of helmet do you use? I'm planning on getting one for track racing, and drag racing. Does anyone know a good site where I can get one. I searched just want to make sure I have the right kind.

thanks.

Better watch out cori and I gonna be AC Motorsports..lol

Ultraman, in the NHRA rule book they have the helmet ratings for which one you can use. I used to use a Shoei RF900 helmet which has a Snell XX (don't know the number) but its legal for NHRA. I dont know at your local track but at ours they just make sure you have a helmet, dont check the rating on it. But for at the NHRA races they check EVERYTHING from the SFI # on your suit to your helmet.

Is tech specifically looking for auto racing type helmets where they have the nomex fireproof lining in them, cause I dont believe that the motorcycle helmets have that. Are they that picky, cause Im in need of one for this season and dont want to buy the wrong one. Thanks.

Some motorcycle helmets have a snell rating. Look in the NHRA rule book under General regulations 10.6 and they have all the info there what you can use...

it doesnt matter if its a bicycle helmet or a space helmet if it meets just 1 of the many aproved ratings u can run it. i run a bike helmet that good for racing my carts to road coarses, street, dragracing.
