Default Hello from Bahrain!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am finally over here. Believe it or not there is a race venue about 10 miles from my flat (apartment) with an F1 track as well as drag races every now and again. They had a big event a few days ago on the 18th that I missed since I was out on patrol. Saw some coverage of it on the news. They did show 2 Honda's racing but didn't show the times.

Track looks amazing, might need some VHT though. From what I could tell from the coverage it was a very well attended event, I would guess 6,000 plus people as the place was packed. Maybe we should get some cars over here sometime. I can't wait to check that place out. Hopefully my schedule will coincide with one of the big events there.

Anyway, just got here a week ago. Still adjusting and settling in with the new ship.

Hope you all are having fun getting ready for the new season. I will check in now and again.

Anthony Dowd

I read about that F1 track in a road and track magazine or something, just a huge F1 track in the middle of the desert! It said it was a very nice facility though. Hopefully you get to go check out some races, that would be sick. Take care over there.

I saw a segment about the track on Motor Trend Tv I believe it was. It looked to be a very nice facility. I hope all goes well for you, stay safe and take care.
And last but not least thank you.

I have some customers over there, Actually the crown prince from Bahrain(Abdulla-he has 2 brothers) is the one who got me involved in import racing. and we built him a 1200hp Silverado when I worked at Pat Musi racing engines. I have heard the people over there couldn't be nicer and so is the scenery. Good luck and have a great time. I plan on visiting there in the near future.

Street racing is preety good over there from what I hear....

Saw a little Del Sol for sale on the pier today, Maybe we can get some parts shipped over here so I can screw around the 3-5 days I am in port each month. I think I found the Street racing spot today, lots of burnout tracks and a nice straight stretch of road. Jim, I need an engine.

I wish I had Jason's green hatch here, it would be a blast.

Everything here is top notch, that track is supposed to be cream of the crop. from what I have seen it is!

well there are about seven LEFT HAND DRIVE GT-R's here one is an r34 VSPECII and the others between r32's and r33's....plus TONS of seventies skyline GT 4 doors...lots of rice on the island LOTS but then again you have the Richboys that drive Porsche GT3's and GT2's, all sorts of corvettes...lots of M3's and anything else BMW. quite a few AMG mercedes ...ferraris you see parked on the street like its cool. it's not a bad place to be racing wise...lots of street racing if you go far enough out...and you NEVER get pulled over for speeding NEVER...it just doesnt happen...i dont know of anyone here that has gotten a ticket for anything other than an accident or running a red light (they have light cameras so the cops didint even give the ticket). its a really fun place...ill be giving you a call when i get back in a few days...
