Haltech E6k Help
Ok im trying to hookup an AEM wideband gauge to the haltech to datalog. Question is will it work and if so how do i go about it. I know the gauge has the 5volt analog output. Now where on the Haltech do i connect it to and is there anything that has to be setup inside the program. Im trying to help out a friend as his installer few through. Thanks in advance.
I had a E6GM a few years ago, The K might be the same. I used the regular
narrow band input, changed the softwear to 5 volt input then had to move
a jumper inside the box. It should be the only jumper in there...
Good luck

yeah on the E6K there's an input wire for this. Set the software for general input 0-5 volt. i think it's called spare input. it's been a while since i've used a haltech.
Only thing i found was in the input\output setup i could set it up for o2 sensor which would give me the 0-5 or 0-1v options. But i wouldnt read with the wire connected to either the spare ad input at the harness. (orange wire on a 3 pin plug) or even on the o2 sensor 5volt wire.
it should read thru the spare input. I believe you'll need to connect gnd as well as the 0-5 volt. I don't have my old haltech manual or laptop with software to confirm it but i'll check for you tomorrow. It's there somewhere. Look in the input setup and you'll need to set it up as general input. Then you'll need to add the spare input to the engine data page or datalog settings to view it.

we have an E6K with a FJO wide band, it's connected to the spare A/D input. it data logs just like all other inputs but, you have to know what voltage equals what air/fuel.
Jim i tried it that way and it wouldnt pick it up some reason. I didnt try grounding the plug like Enzo said.
Enzo whenever you get a chance let me know.

I couldn't get my Innovate wideband to work with my E6K no matter what i tried. There is some good info on the Innovate website, though, that might help you.
What it boiled down to, is that with the V6 firmware, it wasn't gonna happen no matter what. There is a V7, but they don't give it out unless you ask for it specifically. SOmetimes, switching firmware on the E6k is more trouble than it is worth. I sent an ECu to get reparied, and it came back with V7, but it hasn't been put in a car yet, so i really can't say if it works with that either.
Like I said, best thing you can do is check out Innovates forum, search for haltech. Lots of good info.
