Default Gforce shifter question

ive been looking at getting one of these shifters for a while now just dont know if i can justify spending all the money on one.
now of all you racers out there are these worth it?
i have just moved from a SOHC build so i dont have shift linkage yet so thats why ive been tossing this around.
the setup will be a sleeved gsr
goal is 800+whp
tranny will be
stock gsr gearing with spool and liberty cuff.

any honest info would be great.

thanks guys

i really like the idea of it not letting it get into 5th while pushing into 3rd but what are other good things about it?

thanks for the response

This helps prevent shifting from 2nd to 5th, but allows you to push all the way to the right on the 2-3 shift to minimize the chance of shifting back into 1st from 2nd. The 1-2-1 shift generally does a lot of damage!
this pretty much sums it up as why people love the shifter. It simply works if its installed correctly

One of the best parts I have installed on my car. It was well worth the money. It pretty much guides it self, you just slam it back, up, back. I just keep a little left tension on it when I hit second.

The T1 kit is good, but the shifter itself doesn't have quite enough movement back and forth. I machined mine to give it more travel and it works flawless now.

The shifter has just enough movement as it comes from G Force, but there's no room for error in linkage length or engine movement.

We realized this early on and all shifters we have sold in the past 2 years or so have been modified by us for increased travel before shipment.

Ah, I didn't know you were modding them now. After fighting and fighting with mine, I took matters into my own hands and it has been flawless every since.

If you are running a stock trans dont waste your money. It is damn near imposible to 1-2-1. or 1-2-3-2. Plus you will more then likly bust up syncros because of the leverage that the shifter has.

I know plenty of people who have 1-2-1'd and 1-2-3-2'd with stock gearboxes.

lol. Id like to do this sometime soon. I just dont want to deal with the constant adjustments if/when the engine or tranny goes in and out.

Yes I am running solid mounts and the shifter on the street.

I couldn't tell much difference switching from the avid billet inserted mounts to the avid billet solid mounts. I switched to the solid mounts when I installed the shifter.

I still think this shifter is worth it in a stockish trans. You can shift it slow if you want. I couldn't see the shifter it self adding any wear to the syncros. Heck I think its better for the syncros than one of those junky short shifters.

I think your over complicating it buddy
I spend more time changing parts around just trying things than actually using my car, I never re-adjust anything.

If you haven't already, you guys just need to drive one of these cars that has this shifter. You will see their worth real quick.

Yup, it actuates internally the same be it dog engagement or syncro. No reason you can't use it with a stock box.
