that's what gets me upset when the Domestic racers says that Hondas are cheap to build. I usually reply that my gears alone cost more than your entire car, so don't dis my ****.

Why is the G Force only rated to "600hp" ? This has always put me off from getting a G Force set, although it seems there are plenty running on >800hp cars with success.

Due to our very poor exchange rate the cost of these dog engagement transmissions are extremely high (multiply $ by 12), so cannot afford to take a gamble on the wrong thing. We currently running the MFactory syncro set and went through a bunch of 1st gears and/or input shafts before switching back to a higher FD to help solve the breakage.

The gforce box will handle a ton of power but like anything can and will break from time to time. Much more reliable than a stock gearset. I think with a dog trans you will have more issues with dog wear than gears breaking unless your really pushing the envelope with big tires and a heavy car

AZCIVIC - sorry to hear that. How much power were you at? Generally we wont tune past 550-600 on the dyno. you can get a good fuel map up to that point and make changes at the track as you need. We turn it up at the track and clean up the tune but generally its pretty close all the way up to full power

Even though I am Happy with my Gforce and have no regrets. I believe they rate their gears at 600hp to avoid paying out warranty. I don't think anyone with a goal of 600hp would spend $5000 on a gear set. most guys who invests in dog boxes want over 600hp. so since all things breaks and transmissions are always breaking, with that low rating that stock gears can handle they are making themselves look bad. give a rating for at least 600ft lbs of torque which most Hondas don't make anyways

We were at about 800 at 31 psi, there were a few things Joe wanted to test out. Either way I will fix 4th and start saving up for a gforce. I got 1.5 years out of this gear set so I did pretty well.

Funny thing was the gear let go at like 3500 Rpms and about 250 horsepower

It was compromised from those previous pulls and heat most likely

Joe typically gives about 30 minutes cool downs in between just for the fact that the gears get hot. It was just it's time LOL, better on the dyno then making a pass.

Why doesn't anyone run PAR products? Did a search but can't find anyone here, yet they are popular with EVO's and Subies. Their customer service is outstanding also.

I am getting the Liberty Billet Bell housing right now and will continue to use the Liberty Face Plated gears. Save some cash and then get my self some real gears hopefully the end of the year.

I here that, spent a lot on the car this year and wasn't expecting any issues with the trans yet. Heck finally just bought a brand new traile for my car to so I at least don't have to use a tow dolly any more.

I was thinking of upgrading the final drive but figure just use a stock one for now and upgrade once I get a real set instead.

Ain't that the truth, for the price of a PPG you can get a motor/trans rated for 2000hp on a domestic with a warranty all day long lol. Sometimes I wonder why I still bother with FWD.

Yeah these cars aren't cheap at all. They break more engines need more servicing etc.

I'll buy as many of those that you can find. PM me when you get that info...
