Default Gearing?

Just wondering what would be good gearing setup for an all motor crx. goal is to get into the mid 10's @ 120-130mph with slicks

so i was curious as to what type of gearing would be best. 5 speed tranny. i've heard that a long first gear is good as it helps limit wheel spin...so this is what i was thinking (up to the rev limit of the engine - 10000rpm) :

1st - 60mph
2nd - 80mph
3rd - 100mph
4th - 120mph
5th - 140mph

any suggestions? i'm going to be getting new stronger gears anyway so i might as well play with the ratios while i'm at it.

i know how to calculate what gear ratio i need to do xxx mph in whatever gear - i was more interested in what gearing would be optimal for an NA mid 10 second 1/4 mile car

what engine and whp? That will help determine your tire size then you can decide on the gears and final drive.

i can work out the gearing no problems, i'm mainly interested in what mph i should go to for each gear.

car is NA, running slicks and 1600lbs inc driver, but that all shouldnt matter when i say mid 10's with 120-130mph trap speed.

so i guess what i'm trying to ask is what would the optimum speed in each gear be? i believe it would be best to space the gears evenly thus giving greatest gearing advantage and keeping the car as high in the rev range (and therefore power band) as possible.

I would stick with a b16 tranny and change your tire size to get the desired trap speed in 4th

i'm not using a b16 - i'm going to use a f20b. but anyway, changing tyre size is a bad way to go.
