Default FWD engine containment device.

well, its finally here.

FCSRace.com has released its engine/trans oil containment device for ALL FWD type vehicles.

FCSRace engine/transmission containment device made for ALL FWD vehicles with transverse type engines. meets SFI 7.2 specifications and requirements. passes all ballistic and oil containment tests with flying colors. we are currently waiting on associations for final approval and et requirements for mandatory use for cars going xx.xx and quicker.

as most of us know, any catastrophic engine failure is almost impossible to contain, but we believe our design will help tremendously in the clean up process and hope to end the oil down situation we all been facing for many years with fwd drag cars.

FCS has engineered this containment device to capture not just engine oil, but transmission failures as well. the design features quick type tethers for easy installation and removal, oil absorbing pads are completely removable with buttons so no need to purchase another diaper like other mfg "one time use" units. if in such cases the motor or trans or axles break away from an event of a failure, our diaper will save the headaches for track personal and resume racing quickly. we also kept in mind of the street type car which would need to run a diaper on the track but not on the street. so our unit is fully removable after the event, removes quickly and without being a pita.

the truth is, it has been a long road for this device. to design changes to sfi and everything between to make sure it will work on everything and to be functional was quite a challenge. so here it is guys, racers, track owners, and nhra has asked for it and we delivered. hope we can finally finish some events without oil downs.

we will release pictures as soon as we get our approval from NHRA for mandatory use on all fwd cars with a et cap. but to start, here are some teaser pictures.

only sfi cert engine containment device for fwd.

2000f deg heat shield nomex, kevlar with silver shielding.

quick push button interchangeable absorbent padding

compatible all fwd transverse engine assy and platforms

view from under the car, b,d,h,f,k,neon, and new ep3, and dc5 compatible.

view for ground clearance. we use a splitter front design. as you can see it tucks up to the motor. no low hanging material or catch pan needed for this application. nhra approved.

this is a rear top view behind the transmission on a b series. notice it covers the simple mistakes like a axles poping of the case etc.

here is a view of the front side area of the device in which some applications will use a downpipe or header to exit in the oem location. the heat shielding is to prevent abnormal wear and burning of the containment device. and will shield 2000f heat temps. we recommend that if you do run dp or headers under the oil pan it is recommended to heat wrap.

updated pictures.

the containment device is now available at local retailers.

I am interested in these also, no requirement but everyone should have one regardless of speed, all engine breaks and spill the same fluids no matter how fast its going. so it should be a requirement for all cars that race on the track. think about it.

So you are pushing for a SFI maniditory engine diaper for NHRA on FWD cars?

here are the installed pictures requested. took about 5 minutes.

here is a picture for its coverage vs ground clearance. it will basically hug the entire motor/trans.

completely covers the trans and axles in an event of a blow out or axle sliding out.

2000degree nomex liner and silver shield to prevent burning from exhaust running under the oil pan. k series will not have this problem.

we all know engine configurations all differ from car to car. especially custom setups etc. we kept this in mind. if there is high heat areas around the teathers we can also make them in full nomex fire retardant fabric. in most cases on fwd cars, there isnt too much variations but we considered every angle.
