Default fuel system setup need help which direction??

I am in the middle of building a (i hope) 500-600 hp "drag" car. The car will see 0 street time. No heat, no interiror, no dash ect. ect.

I have a GE HD sleeved GSR w cp's, built b16 head w/ pro 1's , 6262e

please school me on what fuel setup is the most effecient and best for the money/power i want to make. I plan on going with ID1000's for injectors. other than that i have never had to look into anything else fuel setup wise. Is an In line pump better to eun than just a drop in walbro? Any help and leads into the right direction would be AWESOME!! and much appreciated!! any links to setups people have with similiar hp #'s or certain products people prefer to use would be great!

That thread may take a while to read through...

OP: If ID1000's will support your goal, you want a fuel pump that will outflow them by ~15% at the maximum system operating pressure.

For example: ID1000's at 45 psi flow ~96 lb/hr x 4 = 384 lb/hr
384 x 1.15 = 441 lb/hr - and that's what your pump should flow at 45 psi.

Bosch 044's flow ~440 lb/hr at 50 psi, so that would be ideal if your max. fuel pressure was 45 psi.

But based on your goal, I'm sure your fuel system will need to compensate for boost, so:

If we figure for 25 psi of boost and a 45 psi base fuel system pressure, your fuel pump will be seeing 70 psi as the maximum operating pressure. Because the boost pressure "cancels out" the additional fuel pressure, the injectors still flow the same (in theory) ~384 lb/hr x 1.15 = 441 lb/hr - but now we need a pump to support that at 70 psi instead of 45 psi.

A Bosch 044 flows ~410 lb/hr at 70 psi (you'd be sacrificing your safety margin)
Or a Weldon 1100-A flows plenty, or 2015-A would flow plenty if you plan to upgrade.

There is a lot of good info in the link above, sort through and see what pertains to your setup.
I just went through the same thing on my build so I can give you a little bit of an idea, but I am no expert on the matter. I decided to go with an 8an feed with a 6an return, but my hp goals are a little bit higher.
If I was shooting for a low budget fuel system with 500 to 600hp in mind I would probably go with an aeromotive stealth 340 (p/n 11142 i think) (around $160 new) you could probably even get away with a single walbro 255 in the tank run an 8an or a 6an feed and use your stock feed as a return or just go ahead and get the 6an return cause with a built motor your really selling yourself short not going all the way with it.
Also if you are running the ID1000's you are eventually going to want to make more power, don't let your fuel pressure regulator dictate what you can get out of your injectors, go ahead and get one that will handle more than 70psi. I got a weldon A2040 so that it can handle up to 120psi, but it's kinda pricy AEM makes one thats about $100 less but I haven't heard good or bad news on that one (AEM Power 25-302BK)
Hope that helps good luck

^ if you plan on upping the pressure to those ID's later on your going to need to add an inline pump.

600 whp is easily done with a aeromotive stealth in tank, and 1000cc injectors.. dont have to be ids, but ids are baller

Yep a single in-tank 340lph fuel pump and c16 will make 500-600 all day long w/ ID1000s

if your going with ID 1000's then you will have enough fuel for your goal. For a fuel system I like the walbro 255 intank with a bosch 044 inline. The ID 1000's will net you a little over 700whp with 95% duty cycle and that fuel system i mentoned will net you 750+whp on c16. Good luck with the build! that 62mm turbo is a great turbo.

intank 340 if you're on a stock tank or bosch 044 for aftermarket tank.
