Hello all. almost done with my ride. Im just hooking up the fuel system. When it was brought to my attention that the rule book stated that no components of the fuel system could be mounted to the firewall which i found odd.
Anyway.....
I figured out an easier way (no drilling). What if i just hooked up the fuel filter directly to the fuel rail with a dual male 90 degree fitting.
What do you guys think??
Filter is a small inline Aeromotive filter.

the small aeromotove, does it have enough media to actually do the job without clogging?
my weldon filters are at the inlet and outlet of the pump.
and atleast 70% of us have the regulator mounted to the firewall.

Hmmmmmm..... i have a 100M before the Bosch pumps and 10m after the pumps, but before before the rail. its about 5-6 inches in length.
Just curious to see if it would be a hazard to mount it off the rail. i dont see the problem. Maybe you guys know soemthing i dont. Its 10AN feed "Full Blown" rail.
Thats true the stock one is mounted to the firewall........

make sure you support the filter if you attach it directly to the rail ..the anodized fittings crack easy with vibration and what not..could cause major fire !!!

If your are mounting a fpr on the fuel rail please use a steel fitting. Do not use aluminum when doing this, unless you want to see your car go up in flames.
Fuel lab has actually come out with mini regulators. Their only 2" wide, 1.5" deep, and 2.25" tall. Plus they only weigh 5.25 oz. Their regular normal size fpr weigh 12 oz.
These are ideal for mounting on your fuel rail with a metal fitting.
Very true.
