Default First track experience

I went to the track yesterday for the first time, my car is a 92 civic si with JDM B18C I/H/E full interior, powersteering, and cheap 195/50 street tires. I ran 15.098@93mph here is the slip:

R/T ... .398
60' ... 2.334
330 ... 6.41
1/8 ... 9.812
MPH ... 72.61
1000 ... 12.680
1/4 ... 15.098
MPH ... 93.00

This was at Renegade Raceway in Wapato WA. There was a gutted H22 prelude with lexan windows running 15.4's and a gutted turbo integra gsr running 14.8, is the track shitty or do I just need more practice with my 60' time? I don't know if I should get DR's or slicks but I don't know what size maybe 20''x8''

Seriously man, I know it's not what you want to hear, but just practice. I'm sure you were looking for advice on what to do or buy to go faster, but just seat time will do it.

Try pre-loading to launch better, and then just practice, practice, practice.

Pre-load. Pre-load, Pre-load. dumping the clutch at the line ain't gonna help. besides that try to get some better tires.

But besides that PRACTICE.

what kind of 60ft. times are people getting on street tires? i heard for every .1 you drop off your 60ft. you drop .2 sec from your 1/4mile time is this true? My car has ran 14.0@98mph before with an experienced driver on slicks

there you go. thats the potential of your car. you need to get slicks and practice with that.

Put that thing on some slicks and get some practice it'll go deep into the 14's.

Trapping 93mph you don't need slicks. Work with what you have for now and if you better your times and max out your setup then maybe try a set of slicks. But for now don't make another mistake and try and learn to drive a 15 second car on slicks.
