Default first time with boost (track times inside)

the first time i ran a 16.2 at 88. I think there is something wrong. i was hoping for mid to high 15's. my set-up is what my sig says with stock exhaust. any help would be appreciated. oh, and the car is an auto. what can i do to hit my goal.

my best rt was .997 and my 60' was 2.4 if that helps.

What kind of car is this in? If you practice getting your 60' down then you should be in the 15's. And get a better flowing exhaust.

1 tenth in your 60' is worth 3 to 4 tenths on your 1/4 mile

Incorrect. It equals about 2 tenths in the 1/4. Still, the times are not what they should be. His trap speeds indicate he is only making about 160 flywheel hp or so assuming this is in a 96+ Civic coupe/Sedan. Have you done any kind of tunning on this setup or did you just slap the turbo kit on and go? You should be easily cracking mid/low 15's.

that whole one tenth equals 2 tenths thing is not always accurate, if your in the 13s, it doesnt apply that way, the lower you get, the less the tenth gives you...its also dependent on each particular run, you can run a 2.2 with some wheel spin, and run say a 14.5...then run a 2.1 60 ft with very little wheels spin and only run a 14.5...usually with wheels spin your traps will be higher, and shifting traction in other gears, alot of factors involved..peace

i have not done any tuning on it. i just have the blue box and that's it. so i should work on my launch. i was stalling the car at 3k and i got those times. what else can i do to help my launches? i am working on getting a 2.5 inch exhaust.

next time i'll run open dp and see what that does.

say i make a 1 tenth drop on my 60', that still puts me at a 16.0. something is up.

You said you were stalling the car. Does this mean you have an automatic?

Either way, tuning will help alot. On most of the low boost, bolt-on D-series FI kits (jackson, greddy, etc.) good tuning with engine management (Hondata is enough for street tuning) will pick up 20 hp easily and improve acceleration alot.

yes, i do have an auto and i am looking to buy hondata sometime this summer. Does anyone run slicks with their auto tranny. that is a possibility for me as well. i am going to mount them on stock wheels. any other opinions would be appreciated.

up it to 8 psi.. the greddy blue box run wayyyyyy rich. i bet yor not seeing 135hp with that box at 6.5 psi and that tiny *** exhasut. the only way to lean it out with the blue box is to up the boost. you shouldnt need slicks at this point. your not making enough power for traction to be an issue.

we had a 00 Si with a greddy kit on teh dyno. it had a 2.5 inch exhaust, 6psi an no intercooler. it barley made 160 hp and was running into the low 11:1 afr's

One strong suugestion is the timing retard. I have the same kit with intercooler and blue box with manual tranny. I was seeing low15's when I first ran and I had the timing set to 18 degrees...THATS NOT GOOD...so I bought it down to 14 degrees and the turbo spools up so much quicker...my 5 psi feel a lot more stronger at 14 degrees retard than when i had my 5 psi at 18 degrees....I now see low 14's everytime at 5psi....check your timing...I run all stock with a high flow cat and exhaust....good luck and let us all know the outcome.
