Default First passes in the S2000....

Basic rundown on the setup...

-100% stock motor/tranny
-Reinforced differential
-Custom GT3076 top mount kit I made
-I.D. 1000cc injectors
-AEM ems tune by me
-Walbro 255 intank
-E85

Here's the build thread on the car for those not familiar.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/gt30-s2000-build-2508414/

Finally made it to the track with the car. The goal as some might know was to run a 12.anything on my crappy 245/45/16 Fuzion tires without killing the car to do it.

Mission accomplished :D

Made 8 passes and only one wasn't a 12sec pass. One that I aborted after a 2-5 shift

1st pass --- no changes from the street and 40somthing PSI in the tires and around 12.5psi of boost leaving like I left a stoplight. 2.23 60' got me a 12.723 @ 117.38

2nd pass --- 12.9 missing 5th gear

3rd pass --- Started getting braver on the launches but bogged 12.74 with a 5.884 330'

4th pass --- I thought this was going to be my should/coulda/woulda pass with a 5.486 330' then came the 2-5 shift :x

5th pass --- mad, I hotlapped to try again lol. 12.598 @ 116

6th pass --- crappy 60 12.680 @ 115

Then they shutdown to prepare for the bracket racing so I decided to soften the dampening on my rear suspension and borrowed a guys tire pressure gauge. That's when I saw I was over 40psi in the tires haha. Dropped them down to 25psi. Upped the boost to around 13.6psi and launched a little harder...

7th pass --- 2.006 60' got me a 12.387 @ 119.25

8th pass --- same setup 1.974 60' ended with a 12.363 @ 118.67

Overall I am very happy with the car, especially running that good on those tires. Car ran perfect all night and gave me no problems. Drove up with the A/C blasting and drove home with the top down lol, was a good night!

Lol, I hated it! I tried to shift as quick as possible since it was so close to the traps. That is just a weird feeling shift haha!

Yes, it is lol.

Looking for an opinion on this. It looks to me like the turbo isn't recovering as fast as it should after shifts. Does this look normal...

Id say try shifting a bit faster too

what is the car trapping in the 1/8th? 94-98mph?

90-91mph in the 1/8.

I'll admit, I wasn't shifting fast at all nor was I trying to really. Just thought maybe this was a sign of something like the BOV not flowing enough or something. But sounds like the granny behind the wheel is to blame

I'm right with you Robbie. Hopefully I can shift these PPG gears much faster. I just couldn't shift that stock trans fast at all. lol

times look strangely similair to my times on street tires

if you shift 1-4 as fast as you did 4-5 you'll probably be in the 11's already on streettires, mph should come up also.

i don't know how scared you are for your diff, but if you don't completely lift but only like 50%, boost should be coming back up much faster

bolder launches, faster shifting and not completely lifting should get you easily into the 11's

other then that, SEXY CAR

Thanks guys!

Since these passes were the first passes and early in the year I wanted to take it easy on the car because right now I can't swing a new tranny and want to enjoy the car this summer.

Late fall it will make an 11 sec pass before I put it up, no doubt. If the cooler air and better driving doesn't do it I'll get some tires that will lol!
