make sure the fire suppresant (sp) they use is allowed by NHRA. i know some are not any longer allowed..
i have a safecraft system on my car, prettty simple install. it has 2 nozzles for the engine bay (1 spraying at my fuel cell, the other is in the cowl, spraying toward the intake manifold, then one driver compartment nozzle located on my steering column) the system i have is a "push to activate" type system, it comes with a fixed length cable, so you are kind of limited as to where you can mount the bottle. the pull style system comes with an ordinary cable, so you can pull the casing off the actuall cable, cut it to your liking, and reinsall the wire in the cable housing. with the pull system, you have a much better "area" as to where you can mount the suppresant bottle, because of the cable assembly.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER SYSTEM:
Minimum 5 pound, NHRA-accepted fire extinguishing system permitted.
System must be divided with one nozzle on driver’s side and one nozzle on the engine.
also says interior must be finished with tin work, so no gutted interior??

thats summitt's price , they advertise 10lb system, i googled 5lb, searched , and then checked against summitt, hard to beat there prices,,, they do price match if you can find better deal, just give them web site address to match.
according to rule 9.3 1301 halon is legal... at least from what i read?

I also have a safecraft system. It was very easy to install and the customer service was great. I wanted another nossel and another t fitting I called them up and asked how much. They said not to worry about it and shipped the pieces to me at no charge.

this is what i keep reading everywhere
Currently Halon 1211 and Halon 1301 are acceptable agents per SFI Spec 17.1. However, as of January 1, 2008, Halon agents will not be allowed in the field. That means that all certified Halon systems currently in use will expire on December 31, 2007, regardless of the system's manufacture or recertification date. This is in response to regulations set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Concerns about Halons include their ozone-depleting properties as well as the human health effects (toxicity) when discharged in small areas.

safecrafts product may be legal, filled with fe-36, but from all i've been reading they are ousting Halon this year
Just to let you guys know, it's not mandatory to have the fire suppression system for BOTI pro import class, in the rules it states it's "permitted"
I've talked to Frank about this and he is not making it mandatory as of yet. Although it is a good idea to have it in the car just incase of a fire.

so if it is permitted, why write it into the rule, as having a minimum? i just reread it, and see that, but when i e-mailed Frank, he said nothing of not having to have it.
