Default Evolution H2B owners come in

just simply type in the brand clutch you are using with your evo kit. we are trying to find out which clutches are giving people problems with this kit.

I'm using xtd stage 3 6 puck unsprung. no issues and no slipping. Travelled close to 25000 km

ok this thread should be helpful to ppl who are having problems.....

ill start off by what gave me problems......i had a competition stage5, 4 puck sprung and it gave me all the problems that ppl been having like not going into gear, not being able to shift at high rpm's, car creeping on 1st gears while the clutch is fully pressed down so far and so forth....

my solution was to go with a competition stg 4 clutch 6 puck sprung and was slamming gears at 8k within minutes....so from my conclusion is that 4 puck PP do not work well with the evolution kit, i am not the only one who had problems with 4 puck PP's with the evolution kit, some ppl that i know went through the same thing and when a 6 puck PP was put in it worked fine....

bully 4 puck unsprung... locks you out high rpm and creeps.
What rpm are you guys shifting? I shift at about 8-83...

Well then how can it be a clutch issue if others have used the same clutch as me and it worked for them?

Action 6 pucks sprung 1MS:

Goes into gear fine except with flat shifting to 4th gear. 4th gear feels very notchy. Not sure the cause though!

I also have a brand new Action 1MS if anyone is interested.

also not a h2b owner, but with my all motor b series set up with a act sprung 6 puck..wouldnt go into gear after 8300 rpm..after i bought a unsprung act 6 puck and went up to 9k without any problem!so sprung clutches aint to great for higher rpm set ups

this is incorrect

its not the fact that its a sprung clutch....its simply the unsprung disk is lighter and that is the difference as far as shifting is concerned.

the lighter the disk, the easier the shift

this is what makes the exedy 3 puck such a great clutch for light to moderate power levels.

Evo kit, Competition stage 1 sprung 6 puck. No real pedal, changed the master cylinder and slave cylinder. Shifts perfectly fine, runs fine, and I'm happy with the quality, BUT in the high rpms it slips sometimes usually in 4th to 5th. BUT this was also happening when it was just a full B series engine. So I'd say it's my sub par Competition Clutch. That thing sucks. I'm probably gonna go with an ACT Stage 2 organic disc and the heavy duty pressure plate. My problem isn't the kit, it's the shitball clutch.

last season: clutchmasters stg. 4, shifted perfect!

this season: Tilton twin disk, hopefully it will shift flawlessly as well

Im soon to be h2b and am looking into clutches right now. I have a F20b sir-t motor with bolt ons. Im thinking about possibley building the head. What would you guys recommend? I have always used spec and never had problems with past motors. Does a stage 2, 3 puck sprung clutch sound like a good idea?

Any help? Im looking at competition clutches, or exedy. Should I go stage 2 or 3? I ended up leaving the bottom end stock, but i have a built head with skunk 2 stage 2 cams....
