Default Engine Managment?

We are ready to wire up our race car (all motor). And we need to choose and engine managment.
Money is not really an obstical but we won't buy something that is not nessesary. Any Opinions are greatly appriciated.
And we have many types of tunnners here in socal, so any suggestions are cool.

electromotive TECIII is what i run. 13psi of boost off the 2 step at only 5500 rpm and it sounds like your killing people and shooting fire completely eliminates the factory engine harness, gets rid of the distributor all together, and has a more advanced ignition system than you would ever get from an MSD. all in one system

shoot me a PM if your interested..i can get you some pricing and all that jazz

Electromotive....no question about it. Easy enough to tune yourself, yet has every feature all the others have. I have used it for years and have no reason at all to move to another system.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to IM me...

Motec is by far the best unit you can use. The versatility of the Motec can not only be used for fine tuning the motor but can also be a powerful tool on the track as a data logger.

The new data logging software that just came out that we have seen has a special feature in it to input timeslips into the logging. It breaks down the run incrementally according to the timeslip and you can analyze what the car is going through down the track at ecvery distance down the quarter mile. This new feature is really cool.

Nate does not tune for us full time anymore. It was somewhat a conflict of interest with Motec. The current situation is better for us, Nate, Motec and their customers. Still, he works very closely with us when we need help and was key in getting us back into the 7's. He is definitely one of the best and brightest when it comes to motorsports engine management, tuning and wiring.

As far as the software, technically it is not released yet. It is still Alpha software. We were shown a non-operational "proof-of-concept" of things to come. It's very exciting to know that Motec is really starting to focus more on the Drag Racing Market in their products and software. Motec is an awsome company, we just have to be patient for their new technologies.

Peace,

Ed B

Well It looks like many are routing for motec and although I hear good things, many tuners tell us it might be a waste of money. We are strongly considering AEM, but we would like to research it or get feed back befor buying it from real racers. WE are all motor I we think this might be sufficient. Also Does anyone know who can do a nice harness engine and chassis ? Please exclude SAKATA, really nice stuff but toooo expensive. . Any ways please let us know we would like to be testing by next month.

How are the injector drivers on the TECIII, compared to the Motec.

Who's going to tune it? I prefer the AEM EMS. I know of a couple of people that can do a nice harness in So Cal, and are very knoweledgable with the EMS. Let me find out and I'll let you know.

the 1900 ems also has built in inductive ignition drivers and p/h injector drivers.

We have used several systems over the years with mixed results. We never wanted to sell a product that we wouldnt use ourself, so after several issues with various systems we gave Autronic a try about 4 years ago. We haven't looked back since. To date it hasn't let us down like some of the others did. The reliability is there, it is extremely powerful, and the price is right.

Most importantly, the support for Autronic is excellent. With people like Ben Strader, Steve Nichols and Sean Powers around you will never have a problem that isn't solved immediately. With AEM on the other hand we were waiting until the next day just to get someone to call us back.

I think for a privateer building a sportsman type car, the system is perfect.
