higher octane, more power less chance of detonation, burns cleaner, cheaper, smells better, easier to find for most of us like me that dont have access to race gas. E85 owns 93 octane in all department.

e85=105octane..

and it only costs 2.59 a gallon here.. where as race gas is over 8 dollars a gallon.

it burns cooler so you can actually advance timing a good amount in any given application.

Can I fill on up E85 at any gas station as long as its the same type and brand? (use any shell 93 now) Does it burn twice as fast? I heard a full tank is like having a half tank.

If you stalk the gas station and catch the guy who is pumping it from the truck, he has a mix sheet from when he picks it up. Atleast the guy i ran into down here in FL filling our local e85 station did.

no retune, just gotta wait til the warm months to get fuel.

I get mine from a private pump that always has e85....unless the temp falls below 0, which this is GA and will just about NEVER happen.

I have been looking into e85 but we dont have it local. Seems to be a bitch trying source it by the drum. I think it is a good and cheap alternative to some race gas'. Does anyone here buy it by the drum. Sorry for the thread jack.

you can always buy one those e85 monitors from zietronix, the best affordable wideband now has a e85 monitor to tell you what percent of ethanol you are running, kinda pricey though. http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/ECA/ECA.htm

At least in the south, it is more consistent then pump gas(93).

E85 is awesome as long as you have the fuel system and ignition system for your goals.

It will make more power.

It matters how the motor is built and tuned. I would change the oil more often on e85.

How long would the wideband last running e85? I know running leaded fuel decreases the lifespan of the sensor any idea?

Would it burn cool enough to be able to run a tighter p2w on say 800+hp?
