Default E-Brake Launch method

I'm thinking when I actually get a chance to get my car out on the track I want to try this E-Brake method to help minimize the chance of snapping an axle.

How many of you guys have tried this in your turbo hondas?

For those who dont know, my understanding is that at the line you hold up you e-brake as high as possible bring your rev's up and let out the clutch a little bit until you can feel it trying to pull away. Hold the clutch at that point until the last amber light, dump the clutch and brake and gas it. I understand that doing this will put more wear on your clutch and less shock to the drivetrain.

My question to the guys that have already done it/ do it, how do you prevent it from bogging? I mean obviously more rpm will help with that but are there any special techniques involved or any special timing?

Did a quick search and found nothing.

Thanks

Do a search for preloading. It works pretty good once you get it mastered. Allthough it is out of the question with my Tilton twin disk Your description is perfect

just try to release the clutch as high as possible without the car moving and rev up to where you want to launch....then drop the clutch from there....been launching at 7000rpm with stock GSR axles @ 20psi of boost for a 2 years....

broke the axle in 4th gear though dont know why or how but it did

Really?!? Man, mine is a bitch. I am running the cable trans though. I need to find a way to get more throw from the pedal. The engagement point is like 1cm.

adjust your clutch cable, to get more pedal free play!

if this does work i'll have to find a way to put my switch(2step) on the clutch, i might just get a 90-91 crx clutch pedal since my 88 doesn't have a clutch switch!

I have my 2 step hooked up to the e brake..hold the brake up ingauges the 2 step and holds the car to preload it.

Good idea, I was wondering how this "preloading" would work with a clutch activated 2step

On my street car I had my 2 step hooked to the windshield washer. Once you pulled it and held it, it would engage. Release and go.
