500-600 horsepower you shouldnt have any problems if you use 4th gear on a decent street tire.

650-700+ we use mickey thompson drag radials.

I dont have tons of experience with this subject, though i would say somewhat depends on the dyno. But i would agree with what Joe said for dyno jet / mustang dyno.

On a mustang dyno we spun at mid 500's with BFG drag radials.

On a dynodynamics we did not spin what so ever with high 600's and shitty dunlop street tries.

just my .02

I've also found that dynodynamics dynos seam to like cheap tire.

someone should develop a tire just for dynoing. among its attributes would be stick like hell to the roller, and stiff sidewall for no blowout.

had good luck with BFG Drag Radials and Nitto 555R's. A friend of mine uses the MT (i think 235/60 - 15) without problems.

when we get to 700+ we have to start standing on front straps sometimes depending what dyno we are on and exactly how the strap locations are positioned on the ground.

oh and btw we also spray a little bit of VHT on the dyno.

i think with dyno dynamics u really can get away with a shitty tire jus bc of theway its designed it pulls the car down rather than forward and rearward and the way the car pushes its self into the knurled roller ive seen big numbers do fine on em or jus use a dyna pak

I'd definitely buy a set.

I will not put anybody at danger like this. I once blew a headgasket and it popped the upper radiator hose off and the 200+deg water blew right on someones back....his skin was literally melting off. I will never do this again. Just get the proper tires.

We have always dynoed on low profile tires and never had problems. We have 2 cars over 800Hp and we dynoed on the same tires adn the dyno held it just fine.

I think it all matters how you strap the car down!
