a set of 205 50 15 bfg's would be a good drag radial for your setup and type of wheel you want to run.

225/50/15 MT et drag radials. I think 205's are a bit small and he'll spin the crap out of em. and the 225's will mount on the si's no problem.

i did try my buddys set of gfgs . i think they were 205/50s and i did spin pretty good. but i also think they were just about dead cuz i could bearly feel tread on them but i donno mabe brand new ones would be alot better. i ran them at 22psi and i ended up runing 14.7 at 100mph that was a big diffrence than my shitty street tires

They are the best when they are about bald.I run mid 13's @112 with 225/15 at 10 psi tire pressure.Thats with 7" wide rims on a stock height '93 hatch. They rub a little if I hit a bump while turning.

225/50s are not to big for OP's setup...i'm tellin you, as long as ur car isnt dumped, i'd recommend 225-50-15's, 205-50-15s ur gonna burn up like theres no tomorrow.

Have you tried 205's compared to the 225's?..
Please let us know your experience with both.. I would like to know if your experience was the same as mine...

I used to run Toyo RA1 Rcompounds when I DD'd my 97 ek. and I ran both 225's n 205's. and i'll tell ya, the 225's still spun but not nearly as bad as the 205's. IMO , its pointless to spend money on a drag radial if ur going to go with a 205, might as well burn up some cheap tires.

Only thing is you can't DUMP your car with the 225's. Here's an old pic (3 yrs ago)of the 225/50/15's on a 6.5" rota wheel on my car.

I ran a 13.6 @ 101mph on Toyo R1 205/50/15, stock H22 EG. That was on a airplane strip (no traction compound). The key is throttle control. You can't dump the pedal with 205 size tires, you'll spin a lot.

I'm going H2B now with BFGs 225/50/15.

Toyo Ra1 R compounds are pretty good. I get them used from a friend that does alot of road racing. I put them on my 17in. gram lights and went 13.1 at 111. I use them as a street tire and they last longer for daily driving. The only thing that sucks about them is the sidewalls are pretty stiff for road racing purposes. If you want a good drag radial to hook up I used the Hoosier quick times they worked pretty good once you put some heat in them, I went 12.5's on them. they were 225/55/16

I have a 96 ek hatch, running m/t drag radial 205/50/15's mounted on a konig feather light wheel (new tires). I run 13.4 @ 106 and have a 2.0 60ft time. I launch 2 steping at 5500rpm and have no prob getting traction without a diff. I run around 20 psi. I would love to run 225's or bigger but honestly i dont need it and my car sits to low to fit it, i tuck more than half of my tire with 205/40/17's. I dont know if this is any help but good luck with the build.

i dont know that much about h's but if im not mistaken their trannys are geared pretty long. if you throw the 225's on their that is going to lower your final drive even more. i think the 205's would be better. you should be able to pull 2.0 60ft pretty easily with those tire if not a 1.9 and have better gearing compared to the 225's.
