Does ceramic coating make a big difference?
I've been having issues with my car heating up at idle. At the track ill see temps up to 214 at idle. But after i race it goes Back down to around 208. I just added a second wastegate and sent my manifold and back housing to get ceramic coated. Will it make a big difference at idle temp wise?
Here are a couple pics of the setup

before the second wastegate

Thanks

Hell yes it should make a difference... no really I love to get things coated now a days, and or wrapped, or at least paint and wrap if you don't want to pay for coating. It keeps bay temperatures down so much, plus it help keeps heat in the exhaust which is a plus for performance. It just makes sense to get things coated, then again though you might also have a flow issue with air.
I recently am setting my car up and decided to paint my downpipe ( rather then coat ) because I also heat wrapped it because it sits super close to my radiator.
A picture I took from getting back from the coater today

might as well get the downpipe and dumps done while youre at it....
on another note...those temps seem pretty high for just idle. both of my turbo cars run around 180 deg.. even on the big end of the track
might want to look into your cooling system or motor

I have a stock radiator and $40 slim fan. That's probably why it's so hot. But going down the track it actually gets colder than at idle. It will drop to about 205-208
should try to find a way to fit the stock fan with the stock radiator if possible. or get a aftermarket fan with a shroud. the thermal coating isnt going to help much with the coolant temps
I only have my exhaust housing coated and it really hasn't made a difference in anything. To do manifold, housing, downpipe, etc. probably would help. But I couldn't answer you to a quantitative extent.
Auto zone is stupid expensive. I can't believe I threw my stock one away. Hpc if you have a stock fan for cheap let me know and I'll go pick it up
I don't know yet I tune my own car so if some changes are needed I'll let you know. I should get my parts back today or tomorrow.
Please keep me posted. I would like to know if I need to hurry my re tune up or I can take
my time and do everything I need to without braking my wallet.

YOUR IDLE TEMPS ARE RATHER HIGH
