My friend has an A1000 with the regulator on his 420A turbo Eclipse, but I have no idea about DD'ing it because its been in his parents garage the past 4 years while he's been in the Marines.
Ran the Aeromotive voltage regulator, I'm running one on my eliminator pump and I can barely hear it when it's idling or just driving around. I have my regulator setup to go full speed at 4500rpm.
The A1000's are known for burning up on the street without warning. The kickdown box does help this issue. That pump is complete overkill.
The EFI Aeromotive pump flows plenty for 99% of the "street" driven imports and is a better pump for a street car anyways. I don't think many FI imports even need a A1000.

we have a a1000 on our s2000 sandrail, something we drive around for 45 minutes to an hour at a time and constantly running the crap out of it out on the sand. no problems yet, been about 6 months.

i'd probably need two of those and that may not even be enough...e85.
bump for more info.

who is Brett ?
i talked to Jarred @ aeromotive and he said he runs the a1000 pump on his daily driver WITHOUT the voltage controller and has had no problems. he went on to say he went across 2 states with that same car. dont know how much to belive of that but thats what he said.
and when i said how does the pump work with e85, he said, "excellent!"

For your own information.
Also, burnt up 6 Aeromotive pumps due to street use a few years ago in a friends Wild Street (WFC) car with and without a kickdown box.
I however have had no issues with my new Aeromotive EFI upmp with 2000 street/track miles, I do not run a box.

unless your going for over 600whp on the street that pump is way 2 much.
u only need 1000cc inj ,& a good FPR,& a single 255pump to achieve 580whp with most applications. we have done this on a few cars as well as my own with 25psi. thougth u are ar 96% dutycycle .
if u want 2 be safe jsut put another 255 pump inline & your good up to about 640whp.

i used a1000 on my car once i made more power. i put about 2000miles on it with my car on the street over 2 years time. but only drove for say 45 minutes turned the car off when i got where i was going it cooled then went again. wasn't 2 bad but did get annoying to me sometimes cause i didnt have a radio. but if your going to use it as a DD i would get the voltage controller cause u will burn it up eventually.
