Default Data Loggers

What's the hot setup for logging these days. I'll need about 20 channels to cover what I want to do.

That's the one I was looking at as well. It's loaded with features and the price is really right!

Race Pak is nice, But you can't play Solitair on it while you are waiting in the staging lanes like with the PCS...lol

Hey Joe whats the Link to EMS???

The PCS is really cool for the price. Its even cooler that we know the person that invented it(RUSS Crew Cheif for Dee K's modified car)
When we got ours installed in our car at his shop. He was showing us some crazy stuff that the PCS can do . Its really good for non racing stuff as well. He had a drift car/show car that had solitair on it and some other games as well. Not only that he had it set up to run the guys whole stereo system as well.

Now from a racing aspect. The functionality of it is really superb for the price. At first i didn't like it, but once i got familiar with all the things it can do i was hooked on it.

The touch scren controls are awesome, being able to change a setting or launch rpm while you are sitting on the starting line is awesome. Its little things lie that is one of the reason why i like it.

by EMS i meant just whatever managment system you are using in the car...aem motec whatever.

as cool as it is to have nintendo in your car at the track, i dont think that would be a buying point for me personally lol

like i said i have only really seen the one in boner bens car which we pretty much ignored since it was 5 in the morning and he didnt know how to use it yet. just from what i have read it doesnt seem to do a whole lot? thats why im asking what does it do? the price seems very reasonable, im curious to know what else it can do that whatever your EMS in the car cant do.

OH ok... i thought it was a datalogger called EMS. i know what e.m.s is...lol

The PCS i does pretty much the same things as a Race Pak. ! cool feature is the touch screen and being able tio to change a setting or a set up on the fly. Like if the track conditions change you can change launch rpm, boost or whatever at the touch of a screen and not have to hook a lap top up in the burnout box.

I know having the games and all the other **** doesn't matter at the track. i was just pointing out the other functions ut does for the non racer. which in my eyes regardless if you play the games or not. The over all package is still well worth it and knowing it can do that is pretty much a bragging rights thing i guess.

So its pretty cool to be able to have the system tailored to your needs.

No because we dont need a boost controller. Our launch boost is the same as our run boost.

so no need for a boost controller. Plus gotta love an adjustable clutch.

Ha ha man no solitaire while in the staging lane. Leave the game at home, or in the rig.
Just business when in the hot seat.

In my case it data logs w/o a laptop, I'm going to keep the Mega Squirt in the
car for now. Dan is working to see if we can use the Can Bus between the MS
and the dash. It should log all the stuff the MS does plus 10 more inputs and
up to 8 egt's.

I also like having all the gauges all in one place, I havn't read the manual yet but I'm sure you can set warnings up to. The add on boost control is a nice plus too, CO2 should be added soon too..

Ok, the games would be great on those loooong oil downs. Lol

V300 all the way. Every pro in NHRA uses it, so it can't be that bad. Yes I know, sport compact racing is all about being new and inventive, but does the wheel have to be reinvented on everything. Can't some things just be used cuz they are the best?

V300 is the best!!! No need to argue........it is best. Others will work great and get the job done. Racepak is not the only way...........BUT it is the best.

Racepak will communicate with Bigstuff3 and even the F.A.S.T. for you GM sponsored teams. It will back up whatever the EMS datalogs onto the V300, and whatever is being datalogged by the V300 AND EMS can be displayed on the racepak dash as well........the benefit of this is , you do not have to spend the money on H2O temp, and other sensors that would cost a lot from racepak. So between the two you can datalog a ton of stuff. The sampling on the Racepak is AMAZING!!! We see things in RPM and Boost that the Bigstuff/F.A.S.T never showes/or showed. Not that those EMS are not good.........it is just the difference between a EMS with datalogging and a Stand Alone Datalogger.

Just to cause trouble.............it kicks the **** out of Motec Datalogging also
If you do not have a Racepak and are using a Motec for datalogging, do not get all Butt hurt. It is just the way the world goes.

AGAIN, I am not putting down PCS or AIM, I am just saying Racepak is the BEST!!

Brent Rau hauls *** with an Adjustable clutch useing the PCS, so that does say Great things about that companies product

Is the Racepak getting that info(rpm/boost) from your EMS?
If so then your racepak is sampling at the same speed as your ems is spitting out...

No.......Racepak V300 has RPM, battery volt, Accel-G, Lateral-G, standard before any other sensors are added. We have all those along with boost, oil psi, fuel psi, rear brake psi, backpressure, clutch rpm, clutch psi, EGT on 1-2-3-4, boost control psi, driveshaft speed, eng/driveshaft ratio......stuff like that on the V300.

Also all the basic stuff from the EMS, boost, RPM, TPS, timing, Water temp, Air temp.

So we pull a datalogg out of the Bigstuff3, and also a datalog out of the V300 that includes all that is datalogged from the Bigstuff3 is BACKED UP onto the V300.

So we have TWO RPM's to look at, and TWO boost, along with a couple other doubled up sensors to look at.

What I was saying was there is a BIG difference in between the two. Racepak being Much more accurate and precise. We can see a misfire in rpm, where we never would see it with the bigstuff or FAST, But we just pay attention to Really small details I guess
