Default crazystar factory ignitor replacement

the little black box. it replaces the factory ignitor which is the major problem in all factory ignition systems. we have been testing this part in lisa's old hatch that runs a s300 with a msd digital 6 and msd coil. currently the unit we have runs only with after market ignition systems but we are currently working on a replacement that can be used with the factory distributor only. we are loooking for a couple of cars to test this unit in and get some feed back. this is not a for sale thread so please keep your questions to pm.

this piece is made from solid state parts and does not go into the distributor it actually is wired right next to the ecu so it isnt affected by the extreme heats inside the factory dizzy. i ran this part in the hatch at the last cmi race and ifo las vegas and was blessed enough to go to the finals 2 times and won at cmi and gave the race away in vegas. im not saying this product got me there but its nice to have a part you dont have to worry about going out from the extreme duty's antilag puts on the factory ignitor.

you must have a car that uses a after market ignition but still uses factory distributor. the guys at dynamic performance are testing this unit also. enjoy everyone.

When you make one for cars without aftermarket ignition let me know and I'd be happy to test it out.

You can get a Single Channel Bosch ignitor fairly cheap and it will run the stock coil just fine.. I've run one up to 6000RPM on a V8 with 2.8ms dwell before I had issues with the ignitor giving up, so on a 4cyl it'll probably do 11000RPM at 3ms or so.. I've run as much as 6ms dwell time at lower RPMs for long periods of time and didn't have any issues with it overheating and got great spark output.. These tests were all done with an MSD Blaster 2 coil. Just somthing to chew on..

No point in re inventing the wheel when there is somthing already out there that will work.

We have another "little black box" that is designed to drive ignition coils but its not released yet....still in testing.

This isnt designed to drive coils....different application.
We are also working on a second prototype that is a beefed up version of a reverse engineered oem ignitor to drive coils not reinventing the wheel....just fixing a wheel that honda designed.

You can grab tach signal at the 7AL-2 box (cant speak for others), which is where I plan on getting it. Just run a wire from the blue wire

Sweet deal. Excited.

Put in this PGMFI box, developed off this circuit...and ran it all the way until the end of last year when he sold the car.

There are plenty of fairly inexpensive ways to get the same job done so I figure you make as much power as you can on the stock stuff and then upgrade to a COP setup or the MW Pro10 if need you need a hotter spark.

Just so everyone is aware...a box like this isnt going to make you any more power, it cant make the coil spark any hotter. What it will do is allow you to relocate the ignitor to the cabin interior to keep it away from heat and moving parts in the dizzy which is a good thing! And unless you have a box that outputs a tacho signal (MSD) then if you put this on a car without a box, you will no longer have a working Tacho

we have a version we are testing today that has a blue wire added for the rpm signal mostly for people who are not running tachs that are driven by the msd. we will be testing the new ignitor replacment that does not use a aftermarket ign. soon.

I use a single channel bosch unit with a heat sink and a working tach output.

So these little black boxes people are making are unnecessary.

They are designed off the oem ignitor to match the electrical system honda designed. These were designed by an EE who has been working for fisher research labs for 35 years I will take a product specificly tailored for a honda over that bosch unit. Also that bosch unit is good for a maximum of 10amps which is the same as the oem honda ignitor....if your going to upgrade....upgrade to something better that can handle more current
