Default crapitol raceway does it again

well, the good ol' boys at capitol raceway have found yet another way to screw the import guys. 06 schedule posted, 0 import races. not that its a big deal or anything, in previous years they have had what, 1 import race per year and had it on the same day as jr.dragster, motorcycles, and bicycle races, and oh yeah.... its all bracket, no heads up racing. last year they complained about low turnout, i wonder why? just what i want to do, bracket race against 10 sec. vws all day. but all of there back hills buddys do show up with their ford taurus' and they have a pretty good time. sorry to say, i think 0 import races from now on would be their best idea ever! they might as well ban imports from their frday night testntune as well, their nothing but ignorant to most of the import guys anyway so it seems like they wouldnt mind losing half their profit from testntune.
capitol used to be ok back in the day, but now its just CRAPITOL!!!!!!!

well the whole thing is LOCAL RACERS come out and have a chance of winning. or just knowing you might have a chance to win in your head. i mean lets face it , i bet you will see more t4/sfwd cars in the 9s then ever this year. which is great but but thats what its going take to compete and win. sucks when you spend a whole day at the track and make 2 passes to go home. yeah the track sucks. thought imports sports /tsr might have held something.

doesnt matter to me, i live 10 minutes from capitol but i drive the extra 30 minutes to mir for testntune, track is better and the staff is much more curtious to imports!

im just thinking of all the guys that go to capitol on friday nights, and put money in capitols pockets only to be disrespected and looked down on. that doesnt happen at mir. it will be a cold day in summer before i ever make another pass at crapitol after the treatment we got last season. i could give plenty of examples!

yep new erl motor in the works. and a ton of new parts soon. might not be out till late season. i just want to have all the bugs worked out. i should have been faster this past year but found some hidden problems so that was why. i got the feel for the car so should see some low 10 maybe even a hi 9. how about you guys? mir is just to far of a run for me , sucks.

i have all the parts for my new setup, i just have to assemble. no rush, plenty of time. yeah mir is a bit of a drive, but well worth it! track is ALWAYS prepped well. car runs very consistent there. i had some good nights at capitol, but the track is usually ****, and you can tell most of the staff just doesnt want you there. oh well!
you gonna try to make it to a few more races this season?

In the past most of the import races were always poorly planned, always scheduled the same day as another larger annual import event or the ocean city car show. They just need someone to help them with the planning, someone that is aware of what is going on in the import scene. For the most part I think there just discouraged with the pour turn out because of those problems with scheduling. just my 2cents

If we (as in IMPORT RACERS) dont support our sport more. There will be more tracks that will follow.

Man, Capitol import races is a joke anyway. Two years ago, when it was still heads up at the import shoot out, They don't even bother teching in your car. My friend was placed in a N/A class even though he was spraying. I qualified #1 in my friend's beater GS-T Eclipse with a 13.0. Number 2 qualifier ran 14.30's. Weak.

I think us (IMPORT Racers) as a whole are doing a great job at supporting events/tracks that are beneficial to us and take us seriously. In my honest opinion these back woods tracks that laugh at "4 bangers" don't need our business anyway. Let them keep holding there lame *** Heavy and Super Pro brackets on those shitty tracks (Capital being a shitty track). I'd rather spend time where I'm welcomed and support tracks and events that show professionalism towards us. Just my rant/$.02

Cecil isn't half bad though. I've ran well at Cecil and they seem to be linient when it comes to safety equipment.

I love Cecil Co. They are actually impressed w/ our cars there and appreciate the diversity. That track is always decently prepped as well. I'm talking about Tracks like Delmar in DE and Capital.

The only thing I don't like about cecil is I always feel like I am teathered to the car cuase the lanes are always moving, but the down hill is nice so I don't have to start the car. Getting there late sucks too hard to find a place to park the trailer.

Lol, if your trailer is longer than 24' feet and you're there after 6, you'll be parked close to the nitrous refill station all the way down!

mir testntune usually on sundays, its easier than fri. after work, and its never been too crowded when we went last season. also you have mostly serious cars there instead of a bunch of junk like capitol. the staff keeps everything rolling smoothly! i heard fridays midnight madness is good also, but ive never been.not sure if you have to run a muffler for that?

cecil does have a nice track, car always seems too hook well there. only problem is if you go on a wed. after work your stuck in all the traffic on the way. track and staff does seem much better than crapitol though

I never checked in to mir for test n tune,I thought it was on fridays. I'd rather go to mir on sunday's, then rush to capital for maybe 2 runs on friday, clean up there is ridiculous on friday's there so many cars oiling that track down.

friday night at MIR is a little crazy...its all the local kids bracket racing...people drinking beer...young girls drinking beer haha its fun but they dont prep the track at all on friday nights. they have 2 lanes......for 12.99 and faster cars and then for 13.00 and slower cars. if your car isnt atleast in the 12's its a real pain in the ***. last time i tried to test on a friday night at MIR the car spun so bad it cost me a motor. they call friday night "midnight madess" and then on sunday is "test and tune". go to the test and tune! they technically require a muffler and tags on friday night but they never really check it.

When theres a local race NO ONE shows up to support our sport and the bigger events are getting worse also because less and less people are showing up. Nopi is trying to do away with the all of the all motor classes because NO ONE is showing up to race. If more cars dont come to race then there wont be anymore IMPORT EVENTS. I try to make it to all the import races in this area. I atleast try to show up even if I dont have a car ready to run.

I've been to every import race that Capital has ever had. I've been racing Honda's at Capital for almost 10 years and get the respect that I deserve. I feel that I get treated the same at every track that I have been to so far.

Most import owners dont get treated right because MOST ARE CLOWNS that should not be allowed on the track in the first place.

i to have been racing imports at capitol for close to 10 years, and usually do get respect, but let me give you an example of what happened the last time i went to testntune at the end of the season. i was in a staging lane behind a few domestics, there was a car ahead of us w/ no driver to be found. the domestic cars in front of me went around that car and got back into the lane, i followed and was imediately yelled at by the so called "official" and was told that if i ever cut in line again i could get the f*** out and not come back! obviously i was not cutting in line, and even if thats what he thought, he didnt say one word to the domestic guys he just waved them through. or i could tell you about last years import shootout in which i ended up lining up next to one of the staffs backhill cousins who was driving a ford sho." no idea why he was even allowed to race a ford at an IMPORT SHOOTOUT" anyways he didnt feel comfortable racing me so he got out of the lane and had his buddy w/ a 10 sec bug take his place. when i mentioned this to the officials i was told he is ok, but if i got out of the lane i would be disqualified. see, what you have to realize is that capitol likes to "keep it in the family" so they take all our money and they give it to their buddys. no one shows up to their import races because its a big joke.
