Cp pistons Vs Je pistons
Got the CP PISTONS 12.1 comp for A B16 with some EAGLE RODS and a Ferrea valve train with A direct port nos hoping for the cp pistons to by better than JE Piston will see shotings for high 11s
cp pistons (the company) was started by some guys who were over at je or whatnot... i dont remember what exactly they did but they are the same if not better than je's imo
They are definitely better made in my opinion. I can tell you by looking at the ring lands and the skirts they look better made to me. I was told the have 2-3 times the $$ in equiptment than JE. All ring lands are laser cut for flatness and better compression. I havent installed mine yet but i am looking forward to it. Cp is another company like precision turbo that nobody has heard of that will hopefully produce higher quality parts then their competitors.
Honestly- I have seen holes blown through JE pistons and were able to see the rings from inside the motor. Of course this is not exactly normal usage and may have had a lot of detontation but I have also never seen anything like that on the CP pistons-Maybe its because there not as popular or there just better? Who knows but there excellent quality
and I will give JE
for being around forever and a day with good results!

Several ProStock cars that were having trouble qualifying this year have switched to CP's and all of a sudden they are qualifying again...Jim Yates, Mark Pauwk and Alan Johnson to name a few.
BTW, I am a dealer of these pistons now and sell them at $495 a set (rings and pins included) for off the shelf sizes. They have come out with an 83mm off the shelf piston also.

Please talk them into doing a big bore 13.5 compression piston. 12:1 just doesn't cut it any more!</TD></TR></TABLE>
i agree, id like to see an off the shelf piston in 81.5 w/ 13.5-14:1 CR also. and next yr when i go big more id like to see the same only in 85mm bores.

Yup thats what i heard. The engineers from JE started CP a while back they are the best.

CP was started by the three Calvert brothers, all working at JE. They got tired of doing it wrong and started CP with the help of Pankel rods ($5000/set titanium rod company for F1 engines, etc). Everything is state of the art and spotless in their manufacturing plant.
