Cost?
depends on what you are going to do.
Travel a full season to follow a certain race series like NHRA, IDRC, NOPI or all of them.
Depends on the type of rig you have to haul all your stuff.
Depends on what class you are racing in.
Can easily be $50K to $500,000 to run 1 car.

Competitive teams will spend about $20K for the chassis. $10-15 on assorted engine stuff. $5000-15,000 for spare motors and parts throughout the year.
Possibly even more.
Travelling costs for a trailer and truck (at minimum) is about $1000-3000 per month of racing, depending on how far the events are and how many that month. That includes gas, truck payments, trailers, food, lodging, etc.
Its about 7-8 months of racing per year.
So you're looking at about $60K+ easily to race a whole season.(low number) can get higher with a bigger rig, bigger crew, more parts, etc.

I spent around $50k on my car, $50k on my tow vehicle, and $12k on my trailer. Then moved to Hawaii and stored the car and trailer in a friends backyard. I haven't even gotten to run the car yet, and I'm at $112k. I always tell people the car is the cheapest part, it's everything else that will kill you. Larry

I will race it for you.
I will race it for you.
It's actually in Ohio. I'm gonna try to make it back for the NOPI race, most of my certifications will expire by the time I move back to the mainland.

No .. unless you got money to burn. The payouts suck and you wont even get near what you put into it even if you do go out and win every race, qualify #1, and win both championships.
With the way everything has gone up over the past couple of years and the payouts of the series remaining the same makes it pretty difficult to even match what you would put into your car before hitting the road for your fisrt event.
Hopefully with Pro FWD and Modified going into one class next year in NHRA, they will spread payout money towards the other classes and hopefully some of it will trickle down to All Motor ... hopefully.
Best bet find a rich business owner that loves drag racing and is willing to give you a budget ....
